I met with my Dr this morning & he added diflucan with my zith once a day. He says it covers all coinfections. Is this true?... because i thought it was only for yeast

I don't know if that is true, but I do know I started Diflucan almost 3 weeks ago and it has royally kicked my rear-end. I have heard that it hits Borrelia, but not sure how true that is.
I was very regular and am now stopped up.
My eyes twitch back and forth
I'm weaker
More stiff and sore
Awful dizzy spells
I have cut the dose in half, but still feel its effects. Not sure if it's die-off or the drug just doesn't agree with me.

havent heard that but I concur with you hambone, I ve been on the Diflucan for a week now and I ve had the worst effects from it as well. Super dizzy shaky out of it. Hasnt improved the stomach bloating much ( suspected yeast ) but it has dramatically imrpoved my air hunger issues. Maybe there is something to it ?

Doubt it does much of anything for Lyme or coinfections. Most on long term abx have yeast.
The Schardt Protocol says it works on Lyme, but I'm skeptical.

Take activated charcoal - up to 3 or 4 caps before bed. This helps with the yeast die-off from Diflucan.And stay away from sweets, excessive fruit, and especially alcohol. These foods feed the yeast, and are counterproductive to the treatment.
My daughter just finished a round of Diflucan and had good results. She overdid it with too much birthday cake and a glass of wine and suffered a setback.

I think it's just one of those things that's been repeated so many times that people believe it, even if there is nothing to show that it actually works, and for the record, that doesn't make any sense--"hits all the coinfections"?!? I'm sure the people taking $1000 medications for babesiosis wish they'd have known it only required Diflucan!
So not only does that sound ridiculous, but both Zithro and Diflucan can affect your heart rhythm, so giving them together...? It sounds crazy to give them at the same time, to me. Granted, I have a lot of heart involvement with my infections, and have to be careful on medications that affect the heart's QT interval, which both Zithro and Diflucan do, but... That just doesn't sound safe at all. Even healthy people can have these adverse effects, much less us.
Wow. I'd be wondering about your LLMD right about now, I'm sorry to say.

Nicole, One of my children had the biggest improvement on the Schardt protocol. This protocol alternates penicillin with diflucan.
Diflucan does have an effect against b.burgdorferi (LD) according to our LLMD. I think it's on the cyst form but don't quote me. And of course it kills candida.
I've personally not heard about its effect on any other coinfections. And yes, diflucan can have an effect on the QT interval, which you should discuss with your doc.
