Been taking Zith for almost 18 months....switched it to Biaxin last visit.
Since switching... Symptoms Increased and tired which I haven't experienced since before Dx.
Is it possible to be Herxing just from the change from Zith to Biaxin?? Aren't they almost the same drug?
Taking: 500 biaxin bid 500 ceftin bid haven't added tindimax yet ....just waiting for these symptoms to calm down before starting.

I dunno for sure but I do know that I took biaxin initially and had horrible reactions form it, mostly mental / brain fog stuff that I already had but amplified. Went to the Zith for the last 4 months and while I ve had some herx type reactions since, theyve been way less. I ve read quite a bit of bad press on biaxin and its side effects too.

I have had the same thing happen- Biaxin has been a better drug for me long term than Zith.
I herx on both, but more on Biaxin and Zith tore a hole in my stomach while Biaxin does not (so far).
Sometimes little changes in biochemistry of a drug work differently with the physiologies of our bodies.

I didn't notice anything on Zith except for extreme tiredness for 2 weeks, then when I tried Biaxin I was herxing right away. It's a good drug from what people say on here for Lyme. If you can tolerate it I would keep with it.
