I have gained over 30 pounds in six months and now my endo doctor wants to suggest that I may have a pituary gland problem and put me on meds. How does lyme affect the brain in this way, I recently had a mri back in January and it showed four small lesions compared to one a few years ago. I have had neuro lyme for six years, currently on mino and bactrim. Who do I see for such a problem? Diana

You should see an Endocrinologist. I had a pituitary tumor removed 16 years ago.

I had high prolactin, went through brain surgery - no tumor found, was declared a medical mystery.
Now that I am treating for Lyme, my prolactin level has dropped from 200 (very high) to 150 to 100, which means that I'm treating my brain!
I do clindamycin antibiotics and anti-inflammatories - mangosteen juice, noni juice and grapeseed extract capsules.
