Was bitten first week of May, Bull Eye's rush, pain and positive LD blood work in last week of May. Doxycycline 2x100 mg started also last week of May. After one week on doxy all symptoms went away. LLMD wants to keep 2x100mg for 6 more weeks (8 altogether). Would this be enough, or I should do other things like herbs at the same time. Has anyone have experience or was cured early by that treatment. Please share your experience.

Six weeks past last symptom is good for acute Lyme. Are you sure it's an LLMD? That dose is half the normal recommended dose.

Originally it was my regular doctor who put me on it. I just visited LLMD yesterday and he did not see need for increasing, since it was working for me got me symptom free in one week on 2x100mg. He also said that is to early for other forms (cyst of biofilm) to be forming in my case.
I am familiar with burrascano guide and that is why I started this post. I do not want to be long-term client of that LLMD.

I had undiagnosed lyme for 10 years. Then, got treated and completed treatment 6 years ago. Lyme gone.

About 2 years ago, I got bitten again and got the bulls eye. I went back to my lyme doc who started me on doxy 300 mg per day for 1 week plus Bactrim DS for 14 days. After 1 week of doxy at 300 mg he said I could go down to 200 mg if no symptoms.

I never had any symptoms other than the bulls eye so 14 days of Bactrim DS (to hit babesiosis and bartonella) and 30 days of doxy and I was finished.

I had a slight herx on day 3 which meant that I was killing so many germs that by the 3rd day my body was reacting to the toxins or dead bacteria.

Perhaps my lyme doc put me on the Bactrim out of an abundance of caution or because I had had lyme previously or maybe that is his standard treatment for a recent tick bite.

I liked that treatment because it treated me for the 4 most common diseases--lyme, ehrlichia, babesiosis, and bartonella.

The ticks here in Maryland all seem to carry babs and bart along with the lyme.

So, that was my experience.

Your experience is a little different because you started your meds later than me. I got on meds within a week of my bite.

Your lyme doc didn't give you any med to cover babesiosis and bartonella. He may believe that your body can fight these off since he is killing the lyme for you.

This is what the Burrascano lyme treatment guidelines say about the subject:

"Ticks may contain and transmit to the host a multitude of potential pathogens. The clinical presentation of Lyme therefore reflects which pathogens are present and in what proportion. Apparently, in early infections, before extensive damage to the immune system has occurred, if the germ load of the co-infectors is low, and the Lyme is treated, many of the other ticktransmitted microbes can be contained and eliminated by the immune system." (page 4)

Focus on that last sentence. I think my doctor was taking no chances with me. I'm glad he treated me the way he did.

Thank you for sharing you experience!
My LLMD took my blood for co-infection testing. It may be possible he will adjust my treatment when he gets the results,
I am thinking for myself now to add herbs (GSE, Samento and Banderol) supposedly they help with cysts (round body) form of bacteria. It is possible that they are already forming in my body in presence of abx ??
Please advise if you had similar situation.
