When I started my lyme treatment two months ago, my dr started me on only IM Bicillin, done once a week (two shots, done in the same day).

I would herx within afew hours of injection, and would last a couple days, with the exception of 3-4week cycle which was worse.

I have now started on 300mg of omnicef also. Twice a day. I started feeling it a few hours after I took my first pill last night. I only took one pill yesterday. Today I take two.

I just had two really good weeks, I actually felt about 80% I waited to start the omnicef until sunday because I knew I was going out on saturday [Smile]

How long is normal to expect herx reactions to oral meds? My dr is not literate. Only lyme aware... So all help is appreciated.

My brain fog is up again, joint pain up, headaches up, spacey, fatigue, had issues filling out simple registration form today, handwriting bad and shaky, can't remember phone numbers, misspelling my address, muscle cramps, dizzy, blurry vision, disorientation, not sure about fever, and more. typical herx for me.

A herx to a new oral med could be one week, or two weeks, or more!

I think it can depend on a lot of things like how well you can detox.

Drink lots of water to flush out your body and squeeze lemons into the water to cleanse the body.

Hope you start feeling better soon!

I'm drinking my lemon water, taking my milk thistle, and will do more epson salt baths with ginger.
