Just switched to Biaxin from doing azithro/Ceftin combo and doing great. Felt i reached a plateau and asked to try Biaxin with Ceftin.

Since starting Biaxin Symptoms of Fatigue and Irritability have been crushing...Not able to take the full dose of Biaxin, Notice when i only take 1 pill symptoms are lifted a little...

Biaxin is very close to azitrho....has anyone had a reaction swtitching from Azithro to Biaxin??

Yes, I have and couldn't tolerate it either. Gave me strong herxs right away. Must be hitting the lyme different than the zithro.

I just upped my from 1/2 to a whole pill-feel awful

Could incresing just 1/2 a biaxin cause a major herx?

I took Biaxin longer than any of long long list of abx I've taken. Biaxin kept my head above water for longer periods in '00 than anything.

But one day it quite working? I had to switch it up and do another abx. Was able to come back after a few months off. But one day that quit working too.

My husband has used Biaxin at 1000mg a day for 2 different tick illness episodes. First first time '04 was no known bite....2 weeks into sx he started and took for 60 days. He was okay then.

Memorial weekend '05 embedded tick. On abx within 7 days Biaxin, zero sx and he did 60 days.

Yes, I'm suspicious that he has lyme & co. He knows the sx. It's his body and he's lived with lyme & co for 12+ years. But he doesn't see it that way.

He also is treated with rife machine when I treat myself. I think it helps keep everything calm. But it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he has lyme, babesia or bartonella.

I hope nothing ever sets things in motion. I even believe he was using beer to numb pain. I've set my foot down about beer drinking.

I hope Biaxin can help you.

I have had a similar experience with Biaxin. I had been on zith for 6 months, then later went on Biaxin and wow- Biaxin was killing some stuff!

I actually like Biaxin better for my body. The combo of ceftin/biaxin helped to reduce my head pain and tremors.

I also found Biaxin better for my stomach than zith.

Good luck Jenn- try to slowly build up. You are on a good combo.

You're herxing because biaxin is better than zith ... in my opinion. It was excellent for me.
