I have lyme disease and will start the treatment soon.

During the past 3 month,I have been feeling lots of stomach and upper right abdomen pain, nausea, because those pain,I already went to ER 5 times and saw the GI doctor but all test negative..

I have done ct scan, ultrasound, blood test, endoscope, the doctor just told me that they don't know what cause my pain and ask me leave.

I suspect it could be gallstone( coz pain at right upper )but ct and ultrasound show nothing, deos anyone know it could be lyme related or can people still have gallsone but ct or ultrasound just never show up..?any other test can I do?

really need help,thanks.

You can have sludge in your bile ducts near the gallbladder or even sludge in your gallbladder. Some GIs don't get it that sludge can be just as painful as a stone....Get the reports on all these scans and look. I only had sludge but had to get my gallbladder out as it blocked the bilary duct and caused pancreatitis...

My husband just had his gallbladder taken out 3-4 weeks ago. All tests said no stones, but that he had sludge. He was in lots of pain and extreme pain after he would eat. Immediately after the surgery all his pain was gone, other than the surgery pain and has not returned. The docs said sludge could be just as painful as stones just like sk8ter said.

It can be lyme related. It was GI problems that led me to a lyme diagnosis--the same problems you're having now. Certainly ask about the possibilities the other posters raise.

Bartonella is noted for GI symptoms, which it turns out I have. What helped--drinking at least 80 oz. of water a day (spread out, don't drown yourself and make it warm), probiotics, small more frequent meals that are gluten and dairy free, I also went vegan because meats and saturated fat in general made everything worse, going heavy on beans and fresh and steamed veggies, drinking each morning a medical-grade rice drink containing pre and probiotics, and taking magnesium to prevent constipation.

I was doing all this for a few months before starting lyme treatment and, amazingly, my GI problems lost status as my most problematic symptoms. They are still there, but far down the list now, which makes me so happy thinking of where I was a few months ago.

When I am down about my symptoms, my LLMD reminds me how bad I was when the GI stuff was crippling me, and he's right.

It's where you are now. You can get relief.

Thanks for the suggestion,so if it's really gallbladder sludge, how do I find out..?

Have they done a Hida scan? Maybe that would show the sludge? I would also think that the ultrasound would have shown it though.

This was one of my craziest symptoms (and definitely most painful). Sent me to the er several times and was admitted once. All those same tests and more. Everything was normal. No stones. My severe pain was also accompanied by vomiting and diarhea. It got worse every time to the point that my husband and I were both worried that he might be raising our four children on his own.

I don't really know why it stopped. We eat Gluten/free, cassein free, sugar free and are always trying to get rid of yeast.

But it was my craziest symptom. Haven't had it in a while. The only thing my doctor could think of to do was give me a prescription for an antispasmodic med and zofran for the nausea. I got something for pain, also.

Hope you can calm your symptoms soon. That's no fun.

Daughter just had her gall bladder removed due to pain.

One ultra sound showed sludge, next Ultra sound two weeks later, showed sludge and stones.

Then had to have procedure to clean out the ducts, no stones, but sludge.

Her pain before surgery was awful. I hope you get answers soon.
