I guess that because I've been SO sick with Lyme disease and other TBI I am aware of the effects of the disease.
My usually very, very healthy husband started feeling ill beginning the third day of vacation (Cape Cod). Initially we thought he somehow picked up a viral infection- he complained of stomach aches which was associated with frequent bouts of diahrrea. Then he began with throbbing headaches. He had fever/ chills. Since the diahrrea improved (but not completely) within 24 hrs we assumed he had a stomach virus.
We've been home now for 6 days. Each day after work he is SO tired. He told me last night that he's had a combnation of regular BM's AND episodes of diharrhea ever since our trip to cape cod. He has absolutely NO appetite (which is so abdormal for him). He's been going to bed 1-2 hours earlier than his usual evening routine. Last night I bought a brand new thermometer and took his temp (and my temp, and son's temp). My husband's temp was 100.1 (my son and I had normal readings). Oh, and my hubby complains of what feels like air or heartbearn symptoms- and says he keeps swallowing (also a new symptom). He takes tums but gets no relief. At first I thought he developed a stomach ulcer. But he also has the throbbing headaches and fever.
I pray he doesn't have Lyme/TBI. Maybe it's not. Thoughts?????

Get him to a doctor and get him tested.

...And then I wonder if first we should start with CDC testing (ie; western blot, etc),
OR
Perhaps he should skip all of that and go directly to a LLMD (which of course is a much more involved approach- ie; getting an appointment as a new patient is never a quick process)...
ps.. like a lot of us, there was NO rash

Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are known for a high incidence of babesia

Erlichosis as well as Babesia.
Note Babesia may not test as they only test for B.microti on the east coast.

I would go to your regular primary care doc and make an appointment with a llmd. It has been a very bad season for lyme.

I agree with Savebabe. I would also insist on testing from Igenex right now.

SOunds like a horrible stomach but or parastie infection he may have picked up.
I would get to your regular doctor asap and have a stool test done. They will probably give him medication (flagyl) for the intestines to start. I had a bad intestinal bug like this a few year ago and flagyl helped almost in the first two pills. They can do a western blot and send the teset to igenx too if you feel it may be lyme.
