Hi Deb. Yes, I've been on the Mimosa Pudica for a few weeks now myself. I started many things all at once at that time, so I can't say for certain what effect this particular herb has had, but I'm certainly sticking with it.
I've been encapsulating it, as I found it simply impossible to get down any other way. What has been your experience with it? Best wishes...

Small sidenote: it's very fun to grow Mimosa! When you touch the leaves, they all curl up and drop down instantly. It's pretty amazing!
I had never heard before that it's therapeutic.

I was getting it from LetsAllBeHealthyNow.com. Due to the demand recently, they sold out and don't have it for at least six months if at all.
Ayush requires a significant order as I understand. Where are people getting it from?

We got it from our LLMD. He had his local pharmacist put it in capsules and offered it to us to try. I don't know where he got it from.
She takes 6 capsules per day. She has been on it for about 2 weeks and now sometimes gets attacks in her belly and has to run to the bathroom. Painful at times. Hope that means its working.

Scott -- Thanks for mentioning this. I bought my mimosa a few weeks ago from LetsAllBeHealthy as well, and had planned to buy another bag in a few weeks. I didn't realized I wouldn't be able to! I'll have to look into where to get it.

Hopkinton Drug at (508) 435-4441 offers this in capsules now. 6 caps = 1 teaspoon which is what some use as a target daily dose. 180 capsules is 53 dollars and it can be ordered through them as an OTC (no RX required). One month supply. It is more expensive than the powder I had before, but more convenient already in capsules as well.

Thanks Scott. That's great info. My husband also found another place that carries the bulk powder. I'm not sure how to know what their quality is like (if anyone knows, please share!) but, it's out there:

Good point -- yes, I would think they would have been listed as organic if it were. Hrmmm... I may email to ask them.
By your comment I'm assuming that the capsules you found from Hopkinton are organic? Can you confirm?

Deb: I hope that the increase in your daughter's symptoms means it's working as well. I haven't had those issues with it, but we're all different.

Thanks for all the great info on the mimosa. For those who are taking it...is it supposed to take a long while to work like alot of the parasite herbs do?
Is this an herb that she should stay on long term or can stay on long term.

My understanding is that 3 months is generally done initially and then a break and then possibly another round.

And Deb -- I'm sorry, I don't really know. Originally I was supposed to be on it for 6 weeks, but now I'll be extending that, after another more aggressive parasite treatment.

Thanks guys..she is having no problems whatsoever with this so I want to keep going. Phone consult beginning of August..we'll see how much longer. So far its been almost a month.

It doesn't do anything for me that I can tell. It does seem to disrupt the good bacteria. I've been on it about a week. I have a hard time believing this is 30 times stronger than pharmaceuticals.

Inactivation of strongyloides stercoralis filariform larvae in vitro by six Jamaican plant extracts and three commercial anthelmintics.

Abstract In vitro bioassay of (a) aqueous methanol extracts (AME) of the green leaves of mimosa (Mimosa pudica), love weed (Cuscuta americana), vervine (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis), chicken weed (Salvia serotina) and breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis); (b) methanol-water fraction (MWF) of breadfruit leaves, and (c) commercially available drugs albendazole, thiabendazole and levamisole were assayed for nematode inactivating potential, using filariform larvae of Strongyloides stercoralis.
Test larvae were obtained from a 10-day-old charcoal coproculture. Bioassays were conducted in Locke's solution, using 100 larvae in each of three replicates. Inactivation was recorded microscopically at 1, 3, 6 and 12 hours, then every 24 hours up to 5 days' incubation.
It50 (time for inactivation of 50% of larvae) values read: levamisole and mimosa extract less than 1 hour; love weed extract, approximately 2 hours; breadfruit (MWF), 9.5 hours; chicken weed, 20 hours; albendazole, 35 hours; breadfruit (AME), 49 hours; thiabendazole, 74 hours and vervine extract, 81.5 hours. It95 values followed a similar, trend, and were approximately double the It50 measures.
A potential role for locally available natural products in the treatment of strongyloidiasis is highlighted.
