Do you herx every time you change your antibiotic treatment? I tested positive for Lyme and Babs and my LLMD took me off doxy and put me on amoxocillin and Mepron (yuck-o). After a couple days of the new regime, I started feeling worse. I am assuming it is a herx since this happened when he initially put me on doxy.

You can herx when meds are changed.
Will your doctor be adding a macrolide antibiotic (such as Zithromax or Biaxin)to take with Mepron?
Make sure you eat something fatty when you take Mepron so it will be absorbed properly.

Sammi, I was already on zithro and he left me on that, just increased the days/dosage. Yes, I do eat something fatty when I take the mepron. Sure doesn't help the taste though. LOL Thank you for your input!

It is good you are on Zithro with the Mepron. Some people herx in the beginning of treatment and every three weeks or so when taking Mepron.
Yes the "liquid gold" has quite a distinctive taste!

I herx every time I add a new medication, or increase a medication. 3 to 4 days after the new medication, everytime, like clockwork.
