Hi guys! I am wondering is a there is a discussion on here or a link that you can give me to a complete interpretation of the Lyme tests through IGeneX?

I'm sure I've seen one before but I can't find it now. Please help!

Please, anybody?

Did I hear you say "pretty please"?

I think not.

[lol]

I won't do a search right now for a post here (too much to read through)... but if you need Western Blot info and WB band info... try this on for size.

Dr. C's commentary link is here and a list of bands I put together for general info.

https://sites.google.com/site/marylandlyme/lab-tests/western-blot-explanation

Tom G. has a good explanation if you need more detail.

Hope that helps! And since you said "please"... I'll beat you to the next part.

You are welcome!

Reposting Dr C's commentary. I suggest you print it out and read it several times. Really good info there.

LOTS of information in the "replies" to the original post also. Be sure to read those too!!

Ok, I need some help. I'm so foggy and having a hard time getting this all together. Can somebody please interpret these for me?

IgM:
18 ++
23-25 +
41 +

IgG:
31 +
39 +
41 ++++
58 ++

I know its positive but don't understand how strong of a positive it is. Is it CDC positive?
I would really appreciate whatever help I can get! Thank you in advance!!!

Oops! My brain is lagging. I forgot some. Here's the rest....

IgM:
83 +
93 +

So does each (+) count for a band or how does it work?

Pretty please?

I normally go through band by band to help out.. but I am experiencing severe neck pain and cannot do it.

Your test is "extremely" positive! Read the link I gave you. It explains every band.

The test result should state if it is CDC positive or not. I really don't know... but would bet that it IS!

Thank you! I went through it and read what each is indicative of, etc. I was just confused as to how they count the bands. Its my aunt's test and supposedly she said that it came back CDC negative, but I don't understand how it could be, there are enough bands there for several people!!

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. No worries. If you feel well enough another day and don't mind, I would appreciate some insite into this. I just don't understand how the CDC counts the bands and how many you need to be (+) by them.

BTW, I can't believe my aunt has SO many positive bands. She is really ill and has been for YEARS! She must have an amazing immune system!

Thank you for you help!

I don't know the magic formula either. CDC doesn't mean much. She has Lyme. That is the bottom line.

83 +
93 +

IgM 83 + and 93 + is a single band hence **83-93 +.

IgM is CDC and IGeneX positive. 83-93 + adds to strength of a positive result.

On the Igenex test, look to see what bands are listed to make the test CDC positive. I don't have one here in front of me to guide you.

There should be an explanation on one of the pages you were given.

It might say something like, CDC requires 5 of the following bands- 31, 34, 39, 41, etc. etc. for IgG.

And it might say... CDC requires 2 of the following bands to be positive for an IgM- 31, 41, 63, etc.....

It should be on the test result pages.

Sickntired...I don't see how anyone could possibly say that her test was negative! That is FLAMING positive!
