Hi!

I'm considering coffee enemas. Can someone who is familiar with these offer suggestions for products, including bags/buckets, disposible or non?, coffee... etc.

This site was recommended to me, but wanted some additional advice from people who has actually used them.

Thank you!!

S.A Wilson's coffee is considered the best of the best for coffee enemas. As far as I know it's the only coffee that is processed specifically for coffee enemas, and thus it has all the attributes that are most helpful.

My doctor said I could use any organic coffee, but then said that those that are sensitive to caffeine should use the S.A. Wilson's, because usually even people who are sensitive to caffeine do fine with their coffee for enemas. Not everyone, but most people.

Many people just use a cheap bag system from the drug store. Really anything is ok. I was concerned about plastic exposure, as I'm chemically sensitive and since the things we put in the colon are more readily absorbed than in other parts of the body, I wanted it to be as pure as possible.

Also, I wanted to be able to clean it more easily and thoroughly than is possible with a bag. So, I bought a stainless steel enema bucket (available a few places online) and found a source for silicone tubing, instead of plastic or PVC. This is all a bit more pricey, but it was important to me -- not to everyone though.

I bought mine here:

http://www.healthegoods.com/stainless-steel-enema-kit-silcone-tubing.html#

It's also available on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Enema-Silicone-Tubing/dp/B004JGWY1Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1310320140&sr=1-2

I've been happy with this system -- the only downside I found was immediately when it arrived. The silicone tubing had been kinked during shipment, and it took some work to get it unstuck. But, once I did, it was fine and I've been very happy with it. It feels clean and pure.

Good luck and welcome to the world of coffee enemas!

^^^ Agree with Wilson's coffee.

Please go slow regarding how much coffee you use.

I made the mistake of working up to 3 tbsp (I'm 140 lbs) and WIPING my adrenals out.

Your body will absorb the coffee and it just takes a little of the caffeine to stimulate the liver/gallbladder to spit bile/toxins.

CEs are great!

Thanks for the links, LymeAware. I just ordered the kit from Amazon. I've been using the $3 disposables, and I want to see if this bucket kit is easier and more economical. I'm sure it's better for the environment than frequently tossing the $3 plastic disposables.

How often do you guys do the enemas?

Posted by Lauralyme (Member # 15021) on :

As needed
When really sick, I did them daily
When I am feeling well, once every week or two

VB - I try to do them every day now that I'm still recovering from Lyme. Sometimes I skip days, but I think a few times a week is fine. If I wasn't sick, I would like to do them once or twice a week just for maintenance.

I'm getting my new bucket enema kit tomorrow!! [Smile] Oh I'm so excited!
[woohoo]

Thanks! I think I will start with 1 per week and see how it goes. I get back on IV next week and can't do sauna anymore, so need a way to detox.

James, good luck with your new bucket! I just ordered a disposable bag to start. Heard you can re-use them a few times... don't know if that's gross, but I didn't want to order anything too expensive if I decided I didn't ever want to do it again. Maybe I'll get that and the coffee in the mail by this weekend.

Just did 2 colonics last week for the first time, so I decided to give enemas a try. Plus, not sure if anyone has read about the Gerson diet, but that sparked my interest. I don't plan on doing the whole diet, but would like to incorporate some of the practices into my routine.

Well, thanks again for the help.

VB - You're starting exactly the way that I'm starting! [Smile] I started with the disposables because I said: "Maybe I'll hate the enemas and I'll end up not doing them, so I don't want to spend too much money on them."

I have a feeling that you're going to love the enemas just like I did! They are such a powerful and inexpensive therapy. And after you get used to them, it gets super easy.

Don't be discouraged by your first try; the first try is always the most difficult.

I have the "Gerson Therapy" book and I studied it a little. Yes, it is very intriguing. I personally wouldn't drink so many juices while fighting Lyme, but everyone's different. But anyone can do the coffee enemas, so I think that's an awesome part of the Gerson Therapy.

I've been having Lyme symptoms for over 3 months, but ever since I started doing the coffee enemas, all of my symptoms went away and (so far) never came back. I'm not attributing it 100% to the enemas, but I'm sure they played a part.

I hope you start feeling healthier soon!

Okay I used my new stainless steel enema bucket kit for the first time today. (Actually, I'm in the middle of my 12 minute session right now! [Smile] )

I really like this system better than the disposable bags I was using. It's a lot easier to clean, more economical, better for the environment, easier to fill, and I LOVE the catheter tip. The tip is a lot easier to insert than the flexible plastic tubing that I used to use.

I highly recommend this product. Thanks guys for pointing it out to me! [Smile]

So glad you like it James [Smile] Yes, I like how easy the clean up is myself. The whole thing feels more "fresh" somehow.

I'm impressed though -- you're posting on lymenet in the middle of an enema? Kudos to you man! I just lay around and moan [Wink]

Yeah, I just post using my iPhone. It's easy, really. Plus - if you're having one of those times where it's difficult to hold it in, it really helps the time go by faster.

I'm super super happy with this new enema kit! I know, I already said that, but I felt like saying it again.

Just for the record: I was feeling in the dumps for the first part of the day today, but after I did my coffee enema, I was feeling like a million bucks!!! This therapy is a great gift of God, and I wish more people were more open minded to it.

I've been thinking about changing my username here on Lymenet. Does anyone know if it's possible? Thanks.

@LymeAware or anyone else with a stainless steel bucket kit:
When the bucket is almost out of water, it drips slowly down the tube for quite a while. Maybe it takes a minute or so for the dripping to stop. Is this normal?

It was very different than how the bag would completely empty without having a "slow down" at the end, so I just wanted to make sure that this happens to everybody as well. I'm sure the difference is because the bag empties from the bottom, whereas the bucket empties from the side, but I just wanted to double-check.

-----

One really cool thing about the bucket is that the coffee grounds (the ones that accidentally made it into the bucket) sit on the bottom and don't go down the tube! I think that's awesome.

And just for the record: I felt so good after my first coffee enema today, that I did a second one 6 hours later. I feel GREAT!!! [Smile] I wish everyone else would take advantage of such a powerful therapy.

The enemas feel like they are massaging my gut, and my gut feels super happy afterwards. Since the gut is considered the "second brain" due to the presence of the enteric nervous system, I'm sure this must be very healthy for the entire body.
