Is it normal for a LLMD to switch up the abx every 6 weeks if the patient is not showing any improvement?

My doctor did that. Once you plateau you may as well move on to the next drug.

Yep... switch at six weeks if not working. If working then she will keep me on for 3 months then switch back to it if need be. She likes to shake things up I guess. She said the bugs are too smart... so taking the same regime long term will not be beneficial.

thanks for the replies. I was starting to get frustrated with the switching but it sounds like it's normal.

I think different doctors use different protocols. Many doctors do not switch meds that often.
