This question is pertaining to someone who doesn't have health insurance, so the cost will be out-of-pocket either way.

Is it more economical to buy the DS version, or does it end up to be a similar cost per CFUs? (This is of course assuming that I have a doctor who will write the prescription for me.)

Thanks!

I would think it would be about the same, but I don't know. Call the company and ask the prices for each.

The DS is exactly that. Double strength.

I have calculated the difference in an old post, some moths ago - was not a big difference.

Thanks guys. I might call them, but I think I'll just take karen's word for it.

It looks like the big benefit of the DS version would be if your insurance company pays for it.

I have tried both..

I am not sure what the price is through the pharmacy?

I know I used to get the non DS stuff on amazon for a pretty good price.. maybe $40-50

My insurance covers a majority of my DS and I have a flexible spending acct that I run this through. Cost is $70 and lasts me about 2months (1 - 1.5 packets daily)

Sorry that doesn't really help you. I can call my pharmacy if you want to see what the retail is before my insurance pays?
