My pulse was 120

chest pressure

and arm pain in my right arm

problems breathing, feeling choked, and almost throwing up.

I am not sure if it was a heart attack.

I have had this happen often, in the last 4 years since I got bit from a tick.

Some times it seems to happen when I eat food.

I was just lying down on my bed when it started.

I don't know if it is caused by food, or if it is a heart attack.

Call an ambulance or have some one take you to the ER if there is some one there help you. You can't wait and take any chances.

I do.

I just sit here and think "that's it for me, I am going to die all alone"

The hospitals told me to never come back, so I am not going to go with out my husband.

my parents don't care.

My doctor checked my heart once, and the EKG
came back fine.

I am exhuasted all the time.

Especially after the first time it happened.

It wouldn't stop, and it lasted over an hour.

I couldn't get up off of the floor.

My husband begged to take me to the ER.

I have been to the ER. THey never care.

They let me cry in a corner from horrific pain for 8 hours in a cold corner, then sent me home after they did a few little tests.

Is there another ER or just try to go to a walk in clinic - better than nothing at all.

A heart attack shows in the blood work, so they know immediately if it was one.

What caught my attention is that it happens after you eat. It could be acid reflux. Do you have a hiatal hernia?

My husband has this, and it mimics a heart attack.

Does it usually happen when you are lying down?

Like someone said .... the ER can test for certain enzymes to see if it was a heart attack.

Hmm... I had that happened a few times myself. Within minutes of eating my heart started to race! I had pain radiated down my fingertips. I was sweating like crazy too. And of course I started to panic so I felt like I couldn't breath! To this day I still don't know the cause.

I have had all kind of tests done on my heart so I know it's NOT my heart per se. But I have no clue why! I hope you feel better soon!

I am going to say that this sounds like a strong case of either acid reflux or gallbladder attack.

My aunt has been having these symptoms for years but they did every test in the book, multiple times, and her heart always checked out fine. About a month ago, it was so bad, they thought she wasn't going to make it through the night, went to ER and for the first time, checked out her gallbladder.

She had gallstones larger than a baseball!!!! All these years her problems were from the gallbladder.

Also, I have been having gallbladder attacks and they sound exactly like this. I would say go to the ER and !!INSIST!! that they check your gallbladder.

I hope you find relief!! <3

Also, the eating bit suggests that it could be the gallbladder or acid reflux.

I would go to ER and get heart checked out and if that is all clear insist they check your gallbladder!

Good luck!

For God's sake, how can these ER's be so callous and heartless??!! Enough already!

Yes, go either to another ER, if there is one, or an urgent care center, or back to this ER, if there's no other choice. I gather that your husband is not around?

It is horrible that the ER's don't take us seriously and don't help to boot. But I've certainly been through it. Still, this is nothing to ignore. And, yes, get your gallbladder checked out after your heart.

But if nothing shows up there on your gallbladder, don't stop there, go to a GI dr later on. The ER is not the best diagnostic place.

rumigirl has a good point - the ER is definitely not the best place for a decent diagnosis.

In a situation like this, I would say call an ambulance. People who arrive in an ambulance get taken more seriously than people who walk in.

Then get to a Gastrointestinal specialist if possible. Please forgive me for not remembering if you have done this already; I'm very tired.

Your symptoms are certainly those of someone with gallbladder issues. From what I understand, the pain of a gallbladder attack can be horrible.

The idea of an ambulance terrifies me.

I would only do that if my husband is with me.

I have had five bad experiences with the ER.

One doctor made me cry so bad, I almost puked in my car. I was just sobbing and sobbing.

I finally found a really nice doctor here, who said that he would take me on, and I think he is going to work along with my LLMD. I am sending my husband and daughter to him as well.

I hope he doesn't freak out with a family that has Lyme disease, and change his mind, and throw us all out of his office!!!!

I have had these really bad for over 2 years. It just used to be a fast heart rate.

Today i am getting chest pains. I haven't eaten anything today. I can't eat during the day because it makes my skin and body pain a million times worse.

I don't live in the States so our system is different than yours.

I don't really eat, and I sure don't eat junk food very much. I don't even go out to eat!

so how could it be my gall bladder?

I thought you could only get gall stones if you ate fatty food all the time?

Antibiotics can cause the gallbladder to go out .. creates sludge and stones.

You HAVE TO EAT... Even those on greatly restricted diets can have gallbladder problems.

Hope you get this figured out soon.

If it is a gallbladder issue then not eating on a regular basis could actually make things worse. The gallbladder needs regular exercise just like the body. Sludge or stones can develop if the bile is not being released.

If you haven't eaten anything today, you may have low blood sugar. I get fast heart rate, chest/rib pressure, nausea and sometimes trouble breathing when I have a hypoglycemia attack.

I think that's what I have too. B/c I did go to the ER once and they did 2 ultrasound of my gallbladder (I was in so much pain) they had to check twice and that was normal!

I honestly don't think the ER is the answer. When I was having issues w/ my Hickman line and was in and out 3 times in one week, they did squat for me. NOT helpful and I ended up w/ thousands of dollars in bills. Can you not check w/ your LLMD?? Or try a specialist?

i am just ignored.

I am so sorry you're going through this. Yes, ERs are notorious for being callous and uncaring.

I have been there twice, thinking I was having a heart attack, and both times they passed me off as being anxious and/or depressed, nothing more.

Was thinking earlier today I needed to go again, because I was having weakness/numbness in my left arm, left side chest pain, difficulty breathing and finally shaking all over.

But I figured they'd probably just send me home with another anxiety dx.

Yes, it sure does sound like gallbladder!! Get a referral for a really good GI dr, and get worked up to see if it is your gallbladder. And don't stop until you find out what's going on. But it definitely sounds like gallbladder attacks. Unless it's that plus cardiac problems.

Gallbladder problems can be alleviated with Liver/Gallbladder Flushes. But this is not instead of a good workup and diagnosis.

i strongly suggest talk therapy and meditation. body scan meditations are the best for "waiting" through pain.

try taking pepto bismol when these attacks happen

accepting how terrible you feel may help liberate you to make good decisions. You can't get better without eating correctly. We know what you're experiencing and its terrible but u have to allow your strong self to take care of your weak self.

THis is exactly what happened to me. It was ALWAYS triggered by eating. Felt like either a heart attack or dropping blood pressure with a panic attack.

THe ER did nothing for me many times.
You probably have Bartonella and Lyme. THat's what I have. You need antibiotics ASAP and a good Lyme doc.

Good luck

i'd say it's a sympathetic nervous system issue... eating makes nerves work in order to diest food but at the same time it provokes a brain reaction that causes a sort of nerve pressure which makes the heart beat faster... it's then very important that you only eat food that is easy to digest, no red meat or stuff like that... you can also get some crani sacral therapy, that has been a life saver... you can also try cupping therapy, this has cured my hypertension...
