I got my prescption of albenza. I am crushing the pill as I heard it works better. The problem is that the pill tastes just like sugar, no bitterness or anything. I contacted the pharmacy and pharmaceutical company and can't get a straight answer about taste. Does anybody have any experience with albenza and if so did you crush it and what kind of taste did you notice? I am wondering if I paid for a prescription of placebos....Thanks.

thanks for your response. i read on curezone that albenza must be crushed to be effective, not sure if that is true but...anyways that is good to hear that you also noticed a sweet taste, unless we both have sugar pills of course....did you notice ANY mediciney, bitter taste at all or not?thanks again.

I would talk to your doctor or pharmacist before crushing pills. Some are less effective if crushed. I didn't crush it whe. I took it and it was very effective.

I am taking it now and not crushing it. It is certainly working from what I can see. By the way, did any of you get emotional on it? I was so depressed and emotional today that I'm not taking my night time dose. This was only the second day on it for me!
Do you each take two pills per day? What is your dose How long are you taking it?

Some meds are tasteless. You're probably tasting the lactose that they use as filler. I dissolved it for my daughter in water and it tasted slightly sweet just like you describe.

Never heard of or was told crushing it - and would not want to be in a hurry to speed that up unnecessarily.

I had read about crushing it as well. Asked my doc and she said no but did tell me it needs to be taken with a LOT of fat.

I noticed a sweet taste when crushing Albenza as well. I also felt it was more effective that way and with taking it with fat.
I herxed like mad on that med.

I chew all my pills as I do not have the ability to swallow them whole.
I do remember that either albenza or pyrantel pamoate did taste like sugar. These things aren't the antibiotics, so they don't taste like the very bitter abx.
