Forgive me for being ignorant if this is well-known info, but why can't it be seen what these things do?...Some theories claim they are in the cells and some say cysts and whatever...why can't they look in our blood and just tell what they are doing?...Are they too small?...Or is it just too expensive?

I think its because they don't stay in your blood for very long. They very quickly penetrate your muscles and organs. They drill deep down and are no longer found in your blood.
