I just got a tooth pulled. The experience was not too bad until the novocaine wore off. Ow. Anyway, I just took 2000 mg Chlorella. Also, charcoal tabs. During treatment, the dentist irrigated the extraction with Ozone. I don't know what the heck is in that stuff, but I have barely bled at all. The dentist was raving about it, he said that his patients healed in half the time since he started using it. I know that Ozone also kills Borellia, so, that's cool too. I am almost certain that this tooth was infected with Borellia, and other unpleasant things. He told me there was a cyst on the root tip, everything was cleaned out. The area around the tooth, that usually is left after an extraction, was scraped out too. The tooth had a large amalgam filling. I think it was helping to keep me sick. We shall see.
Someone on these boards reached out to me to let me know that they were getting Ozone treatments, to a good result. They pump gas into the ears, and do injections in the gums. I am seriously considering this. Can anyone else weigh in on the effectiveness of Ozone in killing Lyme and coinfections? Erasing brain fog?
Dentist also gave me rx for Clindamycin and Vicodin, which I have filled, but probably will not take. I am already on Malarone, and pulsing Biaxin. Would the addition of Clind. be a problem? And the Vics, I will only take if the pain becomes so unbearable that I cannot think straight. Oddly, I'm not very swollen yet, and the pain I had seems to be dying down quickly. For once, I think I picked a really good doc!
If anyone would like the name of this dentist in NJ, pm me, Ill be happy to tell you. I don't know if he's what you would call a LLdentist, but he knows Lyme, and knows what it can do to teeth. He's a homeopathic dentist, so he won't be doing root canals. If I have a cavity,or any other problem, I will definitely go back to him. (I do plan to get an implant once the lyme has been knocked down, though).

I don't know if I'd get an implant. It's foreign to the body. And the titanium can throw of the cicuitry along that meridian. And, more importantly, it's a great place for bugs to grow in the jaw.... against this dead, foreign object.
I know of a fried who got a snap-in-place type of tooth. Not exactly a denture. It snapped into place bracketing against the surrounding teeth. Looked great. I guess she takes in out to sleep and pops it in daily. If you're interested, I can ask her for more info.
So glad this is behind you. Let the healing begin.
I had dental surgery last week to remove a small root tip that was left behind during a wisdom tooth extraction this past March. Has been a miserable situation to deal with. But the ozone treatments helped immeasurably in bringing the infection down prior to surgery. I'm wondering if I should be taking an antibiotic in addition. Doc said he didn't think it was necessary. I've already been back this week for another ozone treatment. But I want to be SURE no infection sets in. Did your dentist strongly suggest you take the antibiotic? Or was it just an option he was offering? (By the way, I've heard good things about Dr. O. Does he agree with implant idea? Curious.)

No he will not recommend an implant. He wants to do a snap-in as well. I don't know what to do at this point. I hear mixed things at both ends of the spectrum on implants. I'm worried about the bone deteriorating and killing the rest of my mouth off. I understand that without a tooth, the bone recedes because it isn't needed anymore. I'd like to avoid that if I can.
He didnt insist I take any of the stuff. I personally wonder wjhat 150mg of Clind. will do, when I am already pulsing 1000mg Biaxin and taking Malarone every day....

If he insisted you take the abx, it was making me think I should be taking it also. (I think I'm going to try to hold off. I also put a call into my LLMD to see what she says.) Clind is the right abx for jawbone infections. The other meds won't work there.
I hear ya about the jaw issue. Don't rush it though. I'd be more concerned about infection setting in around a foreign object. (Neither option is perfect. Stinks, doesn't it?) My husband had a tooth pulled many years ago and hasn't seemed to have any bone receding issues at all. If it were me, I'd lean toward the snap in. Take your time.

I also had an infected root canal tooth removed last Monday. Also had a jaw infection. My surgeon also treated it with ozone and did the same with the bone graft. No antibiotics were given, was told I had no soft tissue infection so didn't need them. Sure hope he is right.
I did have chills for a few days after, and still have what feels like inflamed forehead/nasal sinus' and a sore throat on the same side. I go back in on Tues for the follow-up.
Sound like the snap-in might be good for me too as I probably can't tolerate an implant. Can't even tolerate treating the lyme right now.

Look out for that dry-socket especially if it's a lower molar extraction.

Is it normal for the pain to increase over time due to healing? How will I know if the infection is returning?
