Hi,

Daughter has KPU. She had to stop the Core supplements few weeks ago. They did not agree with her.

Now every time that she takes Zinc 30mg, she gets reaction of some kind.

Today, Restarted the Zinc after few weeks---- sore throat, tight, feels hot and sweaty, headache, dizzy, lightheaded shortly after the Zinc.

Took the Zinc with Lunch. So, not on an empty stomach.

Anyone, please let me know if you have any ideas. She does not seem to tolerate anything.

This is getting so discouraging. How are we going to treat the KPU. She started KPU treatment back in Spring.

Then after about two months or so, was not able to tolerate Core.

As always, i appreciate any help.

How many capsules was she taking?

Zinc will knock mercury into circulation

She was taking 4 per day, then went down to two per day.

Then stopped as she was not feeling right. I felt Dr. was not experienced enough in treating.

Then Doc added in just the Zinc. Tried to start today, as few times before did not feel right after taking Zinc.

So today, worse reaction, after 30mg of Zinc.

Is she currently on any abx or have blood sugar issues?

I found this today.

Medication Interactions

In addition to interfering with mineral absorption, zinc picolinate can interfere with medication absorption. Zinc particularly affects tetracycline and fluoroquinolone types of antibiotics, explains the U.S. National Institutes of Health at its MedlinePlus website. This can reduce the effectiveness of these drugs. Take zinc supplements at least two hours before or after taking these medications.

Another medicinal interaction involves insulin. Zinc may improve insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity, so people taking medications to regulate blood sugar must be cautious about using zinc supplements. The combination could cause low blood sugar.

Does she have any viral issues?

I also came across this:

"Zinc might also have effects against viruses. It appears to lessen symptoms of the rhinovirus (common cold), but researchers cant yet explain exactly how this works. In addition, there is some evidence that zinc has some antiviral activity against the herpes virus."

Maybe it's causing a viral reaction or die off?

From what I'm reading there is a lot of info about starting out very slow. 15mg.

It appears that it can also interfere with other minerals throwing them out of balance.

Hugs to both of you......

That sounds like a possible allergic reaction. Maybe she'd tolerate another form of zinc better?

I did the KPU protocol with Deyprrol, so you don't have to use Core to do the protocol.

I did have viruses come up on the KPU protocol. Seemed I was always sick for a while. I was "catching" one thing after another.

A shole series of enzymes is missing in the KPU/HPU patient. Zinc alone will not work because of it and when toxic metals are involved Zinc is one to be very careful with, unless accompanied by the other missing agents. Zinc alone moves metals, but could be going in the wrong direction. Single minerals is not something to play with - they need to be in balance with the rest in order to do their job.
Energetic testing is necessary. Momintexas said it right.

Some people vary taking Core - from 4 or more to none one day, and back the next day to more. The body's requirements change constantly as different toxins release and infections are changing.

Some people start with one Core of even a half of it, and then need to increase as things start moving.

Energetic testing (ART, ORT, tensor, pendulum, etc. ) really helps.

Hope you find the answer. I just received a beautiful inexpensive handmade tensor to replace the one I carry in my purse, but I had lost. Maybe you can learn it. It answers many questions.

Take care.

P.S. With KPU treatment, toxic metals are being released and one has to pay attention to binders.
When toxic metals are being released, fungi will also appear. In other words, you will need to pay attention to the fallout and have agents on board to capture the toxins, all neurotoxins, in order to avoid reciruclation and reabsorption.

If you are allerlgic to toxic metals as I have been talking about for several years, that can make one feel miserable because the immune system has forgotten what to do with it. We corrected that with Allergie-Immun. Everything moving in the body will have a consequence.

But in order to be able to heal Lyme and the whole ecosystem, all have to be addressed. That has been my experience over many years.

I recently hired a dietitian because I am having issues with foods and supplements. I wont bore you with my story but for supplements she has me starting with very small doses and those are every other day.

This supposedly allows my tired liver to process them.

I break open the capsule and take the amount she wants. I use the following measuring spoon to determine how much of the supplement I am getting.

https://purebulk.com/collections/measuring-spoons/products/5-piece-stainless-steel-spice-measuring-set

For me I take 15 mg of zinc one time a day. Every other day. She classifies supplements as worker, cleanup and maintenance. Currently zinc is a cleanup.

Also she may be reacting to a filler in the capsule. Someone above suggested an allergic reaction.

Pure bulk (the place with the spoons) has no additives.

https://purebulk.com/products/zinc-picolinate-20

You would need the spoons to measure it out.

Also pure encapsulation products tend to be clean.

allergic reaction is rare thing. besides allergy is towards proteins not small molecules, antibody is produced in allergies

I dont know she could be reacting to it. Maybe she has a mast cell thing going on.

https://www.mastzellaktivierung.info/downloads/foodlist/21_FoodList_EN_alphabetic_withCateg.pdf

shows a bunch of foods and additives that are high in histamine and liberate the histamine. I could never figure out why I was reacting to certain things until I looked at this list and in particular the additives.
