Hi all,
My family is still struggling with B. Hominis and possibly giardia infections. I believe my symptoms are more related to B. Hominis, based on what I have read. My insides are trembling and I feel like something is pressing on my diaphragm so it is hard to breathe. I am burping a lot and I notice my heart beating faster when I try to sleep. My tongue has a white coating which EDS testing showed was b. hominis rather than candida.

I took 10 days of alinia, which helped my symptoms but did not get rid of them. I am on flagyl now and my symptoms are worsening. I am wondering if I can start up the alinia while on the flagyl, since I also have C diff and need the flagyl for that.

Can anyone recommend any herbs or med protocols that they know of that works for this parasite (blastocystis hominis)? This is a nightmare! My kids are still sick too.

Thanks,
tickbattler

Check out http://www.badbugs.org/Blastocystis_hominis/bh_treatment2.htm

Traditional Chinese Medicine may also help.

Anti-parasitic herbs, such as wormwood, oregano oil, garlic, black walnut hulls, pumpkin seeds, etc. may help, too.

http://www.mullumherbals.com/alternative_medicine/cureblastocystisnaturally.html

I found all the info on this link informative. They give many treatment options but no specifics as far as how much.

This was good too (found at the bottom of the page)...
"In cases where it is very hard to eliminate Blastocystis we need to put the person on a cleanse to clear out the old fecael matter that the organsism can grow in. Taking specific herbs, using psyllium husks and bentonite clay are great to support cleansing. Enemas and colonic therapy are also very helpful in cleansing the bowel. Cutting out acid forming foods and the foods that feed up Blasto help in getting rid of it. Dairy products, refined sugars, and acidic grains are all favourite foods of Blasto.

Blastocystis is an anaerobic organism, meaning it lives in environments without oxygen, therefore, stabilized oxygen treatment is worth considering. The dose needs to be carefully considered and monitored. Again all the above advice of clearing out the ground for breeding, bugs is applicable."

Tick battler, I'm so sorry you are going thru this. Me thinks it's time you expand your name. You are a battler of many things. Be strong and courageous!

hens,

you beat me to it. I just found the same info from mullum herbals. Tick battler, also go to you tube and type in worm guru.

She is a liitle kooky, but she shows how to make an herbal suppository (very easy)mixed with coconut oil. You have to attack this from all ends. (excuse the pun) Also consider adding a little salt/c to the mix.

Sorry you are dealing with this.

I've had D. Fragilis which is treated similarly to B. Hominis and quite difficult to eradicate.

I was perscribed Vermox (mebendazole) and was accidentally given 5X required dose. Fortunately, I had no ill effects from the doseage and was rid of the problem fairly quickly.

I'm not saying you should take large doses, only that Vermox worked very well for me.

Thank you all so much for your replies. This helps a lot! That Mullum site is great - I hadn't seen it yet. I may order their protocol. And Razzle - thank for the badbugs site...that is one I had found and it is so informative.

lululymemom- Yes, Vermox did help me initially...and I have heard it can help with blasto. I had some Vermox b/c my practitioner had me on it as part of a general parasite protocol. It eradicated my symptoms for about a week and then they came back. When I did the next round of Vermox, it didn't work as well but did help a little. You were actually lucky to get that super high dose! And yes, two of my kids have d. fragilis too.

Thanks again,

I am getting so sick...I don't know what I'm going to do. The Alinia doesn't seem to be working. I hardly slept last night. This is frightening...I feel like I'm going to be bedridden soon. My symptoms are not just GI stuff...I have difficultly breathing, trembling, insomnia, burping, rapid heartbeat. I only slept 3 hours last night. This is a nightmare!

If you aren't already please add magnesium citrate to your protocol. This is a life saver for me. It helps alleviate many of the symptoms you're dealing with.

I never heard of Blastocystis, but to my surprise, my rife machine manual has frequencies for Blastocyctis hominis, whatever it is:

365, 595, 844, 848, 1201, 1243, 5777, 210

Good luck!

When I have symptoms like you have described above, it is usually when I have developed leaky gut due to toxins or meds or stress. My symptoms are always worse at night(eg. pounding heart, skipped beats, tightness in my throat) when lying down especially if I eat not long before bed.Eventually I just have to stop eating when the symptoms get too bad.

L-glutamine powder 1 teaspoon twice a day works very quickly to heal the gut lining. Also Aloe Vera juice calms down the inflammation. Perhaps worth a try ?

Thank you so much...I actually got out my rife machine last night and within 1/2 hour of rifing for blastocystis, my nausea went away. In another 1/2 hour, my rapid heartbeat/trembling slowed down...I am AMAZED. I feel much better today. I knew rife worked based on reports from others, but I have never been sick enough to notice for myself! I now have hope that I can heal myself and my kids from this recent nightmare.

Gotta go rife right now....let's hope this continues...

I'm amazed that you did such a long rife treatment, that was a good instinct, you did what you felt you needed. I might not have kept on that long. I'm glad it worked!

Now i'm afraid you might have a violent die-off reaction! Are you taking lots of detox agents, like chlorella, lemon, burbur, parsley, polygonum, sarsaparilla, etc?

If you get a really bad reaction, you should take detox stuff! Dead bacteria can overload your liver and kidneys, can be dangerous.

Keep us posted.

I got rid of blastocystis hominis early in my lyme treatment. Treatment was 500mg alinia for 10 days at 2x/day.

Thanks for asking. I am not doing well. My EDS practitioner found that I have a systemic e coli infection that is in my heart, lungs, kidney, brain, etc..

We tested our house water when we saw her last Friday and she found e coli (5 strains) and salmonella. We were all infected with it.

I am trying to rife to get rid of it...not sure what else to do. Getting blood work done today. I had taken antibiotics for another infection and that made it worse. Apparently you are not supposed to take abx when you have an e coli infection.

Oh my, I'm soooo sorry you are going thru this. Your house water is infected? Not good! You poor thing!

Maybe an ID doc or some such creature could help you?

There must be a way thru this...

I'm so sorry. I'll keep praying.

Dan, our rife expert, says he never was able to kill E coli with rife.

I think you should email "Brussels" and ask for treatment guidance. I asked her a couple months ago on another forum if she could have cured some of those people with EHEC in Germany (a kind of E coli that was fatal for some patients), and she did have a plan, involving homeopathics and i guess LED photon therapy; but you don't have time to order and receive a PE-1.

Please PM to "Brussels", your case sounds serious.

Here's a quote from Dan, who used MMS for E coli:
QUOTE QUOTE QUOTE
The bad Stomach problem sounds similar to when I ran E-Coli frequencies, and was sick every time.
It may be Bart or some other pathogen, but surely there is something there causing problems.

You already have been scoped, and they did not find anything else.

I hesitate to mention MMS, but after I used MMS, I did not respond to the E-coli frequencies in a negative way any longer. That does not mean you have an E-Coli problem. That was what my problem was.

I do not have Lyme so it is much easier for me to use it. I guess if I was in your shoes I would probably use MMS before Flagyl, although each option has some risk to it.

What I like about MMS and gut issues, is that it kills pathogens on contact, since you ingest it. It is not a complex method. I have used it for food poisoning and it works in ten minutes. It is hard to beat that.

What I don't like about MMS when Lyme is involved, is that it will kill that bacteria also. And it seems to kill so much at once that it is hard to tolerate.

When I use it to clear out my intestinal tract I use a small dose, with lots of water.

I would try MMS in case it is just E-Coli. From the people I know that have used it, this works about half of the time. It depends on which bacteria are causing the symptoms. I think there is little downside to this treatment, with careful use, and common sense.

Here's a quote about E coli rife frequencies. Is this what you've been using,? Did it work?

Cane, wait till you see my e-coli dude info. lol
E-coli came preprogrammed on my Beam Ray rife.
This is the program I use.

I will tell you it's set up to pulse on some of these freqs, but also to sweep 2 on some and both sweep & pulse on some.
I'm not including that info, but if someone wants it I will.

A Bacteria-Busting Oil Behind a Popular Spice
By SINDYA N. BHANOO
Published: August 29, 2011

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/30/science/30obcoriander.html

Coriander (cilantro, when the leaves of the plant are used fresh) is a popular spice widely used in Asian, Latin American and Mediterranean cooking.

Now, researchers from the University of Beira Interior in Portugal report that oil extracted from coriander seeds can kill bacteria related to food-borne diseases, like E. coli.

Coriander oil has been used for centuries as a folk remedy for a number of ailments. Researchers have also previously found that the oil may ease cramps, aid in digestion, soothe fungal infections and reduce nausea.

Although it was previously suggested that the oil can act as an antibacterial agent, this study is the first to decipher exactly how it does.

The researchers found that coriander oil is able to damage the membrane of bacterial cells. This blocks the cell from essential processes, like respiration, and ultimately leads to the bacteriums demise, the researchers report.

They tested the effect of coriander oil on 12 bacterial strains, including E. coli, salmonella and MRSA, an antibiotic-resistant type of staphylococcus . Most of the bacteria were killed by solutions containing less than 1.6 percent coriander oil, they reported.

With further testing, the researchers believe that coriander oil might one day be more widely used as a food preservative to prevent bacterial contamination.

The study was published in a recent issue of The Journal of Medical Microbiology.

A version of this article appeared in print on August 30, 2011, on page D3 of the New York edition with the headline: A Bacteria-Busting Oil Behind a Popular Spice.

Thanks for all of the info, Pam. I posted my update on the rife thread. I think I am having major die off from my rife sessions, so that is a good sign.

Tick battler,

Please be careful using rife. My experience with rife is that it killed my remaining good gut flora and caused a relapse of my c diff. Since you are saying you too have c diff, be very careful...especially if you are experiencing die off. It is hard to tell what is die off and worsening of infection. Best wishes

Posted by tick battler (Member # 21113) on :

Kimmie,

That is very frightening. What were you rifing for that killed off your good bacteria? How did you find out your c diff came back? Did you do a stool sample? How long does it take to get a sample back?

What did you treat your c diff with? I just took a week of flagyl recently.

Thanks,
tickbattler

rifing for lyme on 432 and bart 832 did me in. That was on the doug coil however which is the most poweful. Once you have had full blown c diff, you can not mistake it. I had to go back on oral vanco.

Best wishes. Not trying to scare you, but atleast wanted you to be aware...

Tick battler, I came across this thread and wondered if you managed to find a treatment to deal with the Blastocystis H? I do hope so.

Hi,
I am looking for tick battler. I tried to send a private message but the box was full. I stumbled across this thread tonight when searching for something else and realize it is a forum for lyme, but would just like to have the opportunity to see if tick battler is still active. I am also a suffer of blasto and c.diff. I was hoping we could share information. I am hoping you found the treatment that worked for the blasto so you could then get your good bugs back up to overcome the c.diff. And if you worked with someone local, since I am also in south east PA.
Thanks so much.

I don't have any info on tickbattler but I dealt with blasto myself several yrs ago. It showed up in a stool test while experiencing stomach cramps, diarrhea, extremely foul smelling stool etc. I was given flagyl and seemed to improve.

I was recently tested again through Genova and it was negative. They are considered to be very reliable. This is a great site with a different approach to treating blasto http://www.badbugs.org/Blastocystis_hominis/treatment.htm

Tickbattler comes here sometimes but I don't think very often. I know that she has been using CD(it also goes by the name of MMS) and using the treatment methods by Keri Rivera for autism for her children and maybe herself(not sure.)

Hi all,
Just saw someone looking for me on this thread...sorry..only about a year late! A lot has happened with me and my family...we moved to a new house with good water and are doing so much better. We have a long road trying to heal from years of bad well water at our old house but we are getting there. Yes, still on CD and it has been the best thing that we have found EVER. My son no longer needs an IEP, loves sports and has many friends...no more signs of ADHD or autism. My other two are doing even better. Our well at our old house had so many micro parasites and bacteria, we were slowly dying...quite a nightmare. My kids all developed so many symptoms of OCD, ADHD, tourrettes, PANDAS/PANS, bedwetting, night terrors, fatigue, etc, etc, etc,...all from our bad water! Thank goodness we figured it out.
I am still very sensitive to the micro parasites and cannot eat out at restaurants unless I know the water in that town is good. If it has cryptosporidium in it, I will get gut pain later that night and the next day. So I have a lot of work to do to heal my leaky gut so I can withstand normal exposures to parasites, bacteria, etc...
I still rife for blastocystis and take herbs along with CD to continue to heal and I think I still have it but it is almost gone.
