Yes, this is a common side effect. If you become suicidal, you must STOP taking the mepron. Please, be careful.

Happened to me, started last Thurs @ 1/2 dose twice daily. I stopped for a day and started even slower and only once a day. I have very little trouble right now and will continue for a week and then go up. I do feel very tired and blah but nothing compared to Sat.
Hang in there! Read the Mepron Blues thread that TUTU posted.

I didn't cry but I was pretty damn sad while taking it.
Didn't mention it to my LLMD cause I hadn't made the connection with the medication and was not aware of this forum, or other sources of information, at the time.

When I was on mepron, I called them attacks. I would cry, uncontrollably, several times a day.I was on 2 tsp 2 x daily for 4 months. The crying did get less as time went on. Had I known at the time this was also a mepron thing, I would have gone off.OMG what a horrible feeling.
If you can get through the crying you do feel better after the tears. So, if you can think of it as another symptom and separate, somehow, from the saddness, you will get through it as i did. But...if the suicide feelings are too much lingering over your head, find another way. There are lots of treatments out there that won't make you as depressed.
Easy does it, sweetie, you are not going crazy. But..remember, if it gets to be too much, you can get better on something else. There's lots of treatments out there.Oh, i feel so bad.
