I've read it's been found in semen but haven't seen anything about vaginal secretions. If it is, how likely is it to be transmitted from a female to a male?
Logic tells me that it's probably harder for a female to transfer it to a male than vise versa simply because vaginal secretions don't usually go into a man's penis like semen goes into a woman's vagina.
Any personal experience with this? Also, if anyone can provide links to studies I'd appreciate it.

i've read its harder to pass from female to male than the other way around.
is it possible...who knows. anyone who claims to know is (more than likely) basing it off of their own anecdotal experience.
I'm 27 years old, been infected/symptomatic for at least 9 years.
None of my ex boyfriends I've been with got sick, not before i found out it was lyme or after i found out it was lyme.
I am probably a higher functioning chronic lyme patient than most, but it's still difficult for me to work 30 hours a week and I've been treating for one year total now.
some believe that if you can indeed pass it to your mate, it is probably a less severe form than the severity of your own current condition.
We won't know until concrete studies are performed. If those studies are out there, I sure don't know about them.

Considering there is no ILADS endorsed evidence saying it is even sexually transmitted, then I would say very little.

Well i can just really say it can be transferred from male to female. I transmitted lyme to my wife. She started having symptoms months after i was bitten.

If it is found in the vaginal tissues in lichen sclerosus then there isn;t too much of a question now is there? The obvious answer is yes.
Not to mention that viable(live) are very prevalent in urine, how could it not be possible, say goodbye to sex for awhile, not that I remember what that is. Posted by bcb1200 (Member # 25745) on :
So then why doesn't ILADS say it is possible then? Just be aide you find spirochetes in tissues doesn't mean it is capable of transmission. Syphyllia is sexually transmitted because it causes open sores on genitals. Lyme doesn't do this.
There hasn't been a single confirmed case of transmission according to ILADS.
