Went to integrative doc today. Based on my symptoms, heart crazy, joint, muscle, ear pain, she put me on 400 mg doxi for possible new infection. Bad neuro symptoms lesions, depersonalization, Till I get to a llmd, could doxi do anything. Been off antibiotics for a year, tonite is my first time in a long time. I know it's good for new, but what about old. Thanks,

Doxy gave me strength on many levels. Didn't notice changes for about a month or so, then my insurance stopped covering it.Took it for 2 months total.

Had to take it with food.I loved it while I was on it though.

Yes, I wish I were on doxycycline from the very beginning, but had to wait over 7 years for it. It took 10 days, and I noticed it helped my head, but not so muich the flulike malaise. That had to clear on its own.

Well, my lyme doc must think doxy is good for chronic cases. I have been sick a year and she started me out on doxy and flagyl. Good luck!!

Your symptoms "heart crazy, joint, muscle, ear pain" were some of my worst symptoms before I started treating.

I did 400mg / day of Doxy per day, plus I pulsed 1000mg of Flagyl 3 days every other week.

This was a very good regiment for me as I started to function normally again.

Doxy is the only constant I've been on for over a year...and I am better than when I started.

Did it do anything for anyone's brain?

Phyllis Mervine, who is involved in the California Lyme Disease Association, was put on Doxy after being sick for many, many years with Lyme disease. She says that it was three months before she noticed any improvement at all and three years before she could plan her life beyond one day at a time.

Now, after many years she claims she is 90% better, but gets sick again if she goes off the Doxy. So she just stays on it.

It is not very expensive and is used to treat acne, so it doesn't raise eyebrows with insurance companies and/or pharmacies.

Do you know if she had confections or brain involvement? I tried to google her story. Thanks.
