Does anyone else get random bruises with no idea of how they occurred? These are mostly on my husband's legs. He also has some bruises he got literally years ago that are still around. Does anyone know what causes this or whether they are indicative of a specific problem or deficiency?

Easy bruising could be caused by vitamin C deficiency. But it could also be caused by low platelets which can be caused by several of the different tick borne infections.

Are the bruises painful? Do they change color and eventually go away?

They are not painful at all. They fade to a reddish color or lighter brown but do not seem to ever completely go away.

I have this problem too. I tried to blame it on my hubby beating me up in my sleep...LOL! I had one bruise that was huge, never changed colors or faded for 10 months. Docs said not to worry about it, but 10 months, how can you not worry about it?

I think easy bruising is a symptom of Babesia.

Mom2kids, your signature is very sad. [Frown]
