I've tried two pharmacies (both CVS) and they both told me that the manufacturer has stopped making Doryx in 100 mg capsules. Apparently they are still making 150 mg capsules.

I just talked to the nurse practitioner at my LLMD practice and she said she hadn't heard this, which makes me wonder if CVS is just plain wrong.

Anyone have any info on whether Doryx is still available in 100 mg form?

If it's not, she's going to switch me to Minicin (sp?) but I'm a little wary of the GI side effects. I already tried generic doxy but it was pretty rough on my stomach.

thanks!

Hmm...We can get the 100mg for our dogs so I can't imagine that they do not make it. Maybe try a mail order pharmacy?

Our local CVS told us they had it. Not the name brand Doryx, but the generic: doxycycline hyclate DR (delayed release). But even with insurance coverage, the generic is very costly. The price has actually gone up in the past two months.

Check on Amazon under fish and bird meds. They sell pharmaceutical grade regular old human meds right there; I'm pretty sure they have Doryx. I just bought some Doxy for my dog and I think I saw Doryx too.

thanks for the input! Yes, Doxy generic is still available at my pharmacy too but it's harder on the stomach. LLMD ended up switching me to Mino.

thanks again!
