Has anyone else had a major herx with mimosa pudica?

And really quickly too?. I felt it within 30 min of my first dose on Thurs. Have taken 3 days since (my protocol is 3 days/week), and get worse after each dose.

I took lower doses on Sat & yesterday (days 2 and 3), and I think it helped somewhat but still does a number on me. And I feel like a total wreck today [Frown] Much worse even than yesterday when I dosed!

Based on my symptoms, feels like major parasite die-off...? Anyone know what other microbes mimosa pudica hits?

I'd appreciate any feedback, advice, tips, etc! [Smile]

From Wikipedia:
[Mimosa Pudica] extract immobilizes the filariform larvae of Strongyloides stercoralis in less than one hour.[16] In contemporary medicine, Mimosa pudica is being investigated for its potential to yield novel chemotherapeutic compounds. It contains an alkaloid called mimosine, which has been found to have potent antiproliferative and apoptotic effects.

Hope that helps!

Mimosa pudica powder is an Ayurvedic herb that is 30 times stronger than the best medical drug. Starting with 1/2 teaspoon twice a day two days a week and working up to 1 teaspoon daily for 3 months.

I have been taking it as a tea & it seems like a mild herb but it can affect people differently. I have been taking anti-parasitics for a couple of years now...

I think it may have subtle properties but if you have alot of parasites, it may make you ill. It's usually the die off that makes people ill. Go slow if you feel it's too strong.

My son felt Dizzy the first day and pain on the side of the head.Than the next day he felt happy and played with me.The third day he said I feel like in LALA LAND.

That mean he has parasites ( that I know of already do to QXCI test results and some seeing in the toilet) I just am not sure what exactly Mimosa pudica is killing .I will keep posting.I probably will reduce the dosage for him and increase it slowly .

finally got mine in from the pharmacy, took two capsules today at lunch, 4 hours later feeling sleepy, so maybe something is happening, seems to be different for everyone!

The info I read states it has anti depression and antianxiety properties , which might explain it making one calmed or drowsy . It supposedly is helpful for depression .

I am having very positive results with Mimosa Pudica. I get organic from Hopkinton Drug 800-439-4441

Its helping with pain, anxiety, buzzing, vibrating body.I feel more grounded and hopeful.

When I ran out of it I crashed. Back on and I am doing better again.

Dr K says it for Parasites, lung worm and others, but when I started having positives I did lots of searches and found all I listed above it helped with.

When I crashed,Babs and Myco reared their heads so my doc had me raise A-BABS.

Its helps to regenerate nerves,so maybe why it helping with pain. I have also read its anti, ovarian or uterine cancer,I forget which.

I am wondering if it helps with Babs and other critters. Its seems to help me with herxs from increasing A-BABS and other things.

We r all so different. I pray others will have the positives that I am having.

I have been ill for yrs and it took me 23 yrs to get lyme and co dx.

I do want to share a friend gave me some Mimosa from a local herb store and it made me totally ill and toxic. So please be sure ur getting a clean source.

I am taking powdered caps. You do not need a script from the pharmacy. Hope u will run it buy your practitioner's and docs though. [Smile]

Slept well last night and woke up feeling rested. Will see how today goes as I am ramping up from 250 minocycline to 300 mg mino today. Am supposed to add in 500 mg Ceftin next. Last weekend when ramped up from 200 mg to 250 mg had a big herx the next 2 days. Lots of poops this am, prob due to the mimosa but don't see anything spectacular. Also did KMT #2 last night, 2 rounds.

re - from Healing in SC -

---

Do you think the herb could have been stronger than the pills & this may have caused you to feel toxic? Maybe it was too strong rather than being unclean?

I bough some from Tropilab. They said they export big quantities to Japan & they grind it up. I don't know what they do with it or who it's being sold to. They also make a tincture.

I know these herbs can vary in where they are grown & how. I'm not sure if someone would get ill from something like chammomile if it's grow in one place vs. another...

Could be the same for anything, really. I'm sure spinach grown in CA is being exposed to radiation from Fukishima.

I'm not trying to invalidate anyone's experience but there are alot of factors involved. It is difficult to know the growing conditions, etc. of all of the herbs or food we buy.

I read that collard greens are sprayed with 52 different kinds of pesticides. I have eaten non-organic collards & they didn't make me ill right away. It's just hard to know about these things & what exactly is affecting us.

Mimosa General Information
Mimosa is often grown for its curiosity value. The fern like leaves close up and droop when touched or exposed to flame, and usually re-open within minutes. It has prickly stems and small fluffy ball-shaped pink flowers in summer. The Mimosa scabrella and Mimosa Tenuiflora (Tepezcohuite) species have different qualities, but are useful in medicine as well. The Tepezchuite, in particular, is called Skin Tree and was used for skin renewal since before the Spanish conquest. The Mayan civilization highly regarded Mimosa bark due to its regenerative qualities on living tissue. Mimosa pudica has anthelminthic, antibacterial, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-pyretic, anti-tussive, bactericidal, sedative, relaxing, contraceptive, diuretic, emetic, expectorant, and tonic properties.

Mimosa Uses & Scientific Evidence For
Mimosa Tenuiflora bark is used to relax the mind, and relieve depression, mental distress, irritability, severe palpitations, and amnesia. It is a mood enhancer and improves circulation of the blood. Some believe Mimosa can reduce the onset of baldness. Due to its ability to promote healthy cell growth, Tepezcohuite is used in shampoos, creams, capsules, and soaps. In Ayurvedic and Unani medicine, Mimosa pudica root is used to treat bilious fevers, piles, jaundice, leprosy, dysentery, vaginal and uterine complaints, inflammations, burning sensation, fatigue, asthma, leucoderma, and blood diseases. In Western medicine, Mimosa root is used for treating insomnia, irritability, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), menorrhagia, hemorrhoids, skin wounds, and diarrhea. It is also used to treat whooping cough and fevers in children, and there is some evidence to suggest Mimosa is effective in relieving the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

My son continues on the 5th day full dosage and nothing else.He said he felt nothing after the diziness in his head but I heard he was breathless when he came upstairs and played outside also was very active inside making carate moves.

So it is working and is hitting some parasitic infection in him. Will see how it goes.My son has neurolyme and coinfection .Treated before but still present.

Why is mimosa considered toxic via those links above?

Posted by manybites (Member # 33750) on :

I bet somebody is so infected and it feels like they are toxic. That is How I felt in the begining when I was trying every herbs on earth and probiotics when I did not knew I have had lyme and coinfection for long time.I felt toxic for years until I reduced the infections.

Detoxing and reducing them will make them feel less toxic in any killer.

Sparkle, thats the best article I have seen on Mimosa.Thanks. not clean or too strong it was a total different experience than the Pharmacy one.

And I only took a tiny bit. Nothing close to what I am taking from the pharmacy one.And it was way harsher than any other herx I have ever had and I have had very intense ones over the yrs.

Felt like I was dying.I was also extremely constipated for days and much more. With the pharmacy one my bowels r moving better than ever.

This is Organic and comes from India and its the one Dr K has recommended.

Every other anti-parasite,anti everything, for that matter has made me extremely ill.

This pharmacy Mimosa is not doing that at all.

And it seems to be helping with herxs from A-BABS,A-BART and AV.

Dr Eva Sapi studies ticks and finds a large percentage infected with different forms of filarial worms , which IN THEORY , could explain why so many are responding to anti parasite herbs or drugs.

Within one day of taking ivermectin I could BREATHE , really breathe. And my chest soreness
(costo pain) disappeared. The mimosa works on strongyloides . Probably many of us do have parasite issue that will not respond to ABX , or maybe even mepron . It sure seems like an awful lot of people respond partially , then relapse to most of what is tried currently .

I would like to hear further feedback from people who try the ivermectin and mimosa or Klinghardt protocol . I hope others will keep posting .

I am like Cruz in that I QUICKLY felt 1000 % percent better / w ivermectin. Only time will tell. I definitely HERXED , then felt FAR better.

Deb133 what do you mean by pulsed? You took 2 caps 2 times daily, when did you pulse it?

What is the recommended dosage of Mimosa Pudica from Dr. K.?

I am calling the Hopkinson pharmacy tomorrow. I called one place and it sounded like a mafia guy making a drug deal.... very shady.

Posted by sparkle7 (Member # 10397) on :

I don't know what to say or why the varieties are different. The Tropilab company seemed a bit disorganized with my order. It says that the herbs are grown in a fairly pure environment & they do make a tincture. I don't know why there would be a difference between the Hopkinson formula & the other brands. I don't know if one may be the whole plant & another may be just leaves or other parts...

I would like to know. I'll see if I can get around to calling Hopkinson's.

That's funny Haley - I think you must be referring to the place I mentioned above... One never knows... Even the Clintons were thought to be involved in drug traffiking in Mena, AR.

PS - healing in SC - Was the version you bought as a whole herb very stemmy? The one I got has alot of big stems & not alot of leaf or other materials. It is a viney, pulpy plant from what I have read.

Dr K says 1/2 tsp 2 X a day 2 days a week and working up to 1 tsp daily for 3 mo. This is what Sparkle posted above along with the K article on Scotts site.

Energy testing by my Md I am taking 6 a day 2 3X a day with food. This is what all my other friend are doing also.

The Pharmacy told one of my friends to take 2 2X a day for 3 mo. I am happy with the dose I am taking and will be more so when I get Babs knocked down again.

I see my Md again wed so we will check again.

Sparkle, over the yrs I have learned that herbs need to be picked at different times of the yr,and different parts r used for different things.

And where they r grown makes a difference.

What I have from the pharmacy is powdered and in caps so not sure what parts were used.

The one my friend gave me, that tweaked me,she ground herself.

Since Babs and Myco reared their heads being off Mimosa my Md had me ramp up on A-Babs and Mimosa came in,so started back on it.

I was better at first but now not as good and herxs intense, sooooo backing down on A-Babs

Hope to get back to where I was shortly.

Yes, I agree there can be differences with the herbs & where they are grown, parts of plant used, etc.

Mimosa pudica is a fairly common plant, though. It's kind of a weed - sort of like Japanese knotweed or dandilion. I see them growing around in vacant areas... I wouldn't think that it made such a difference.

I could see if the version from Hopkinson is just leaves & no roots or stems. I don't know? I guess I'd have to call & find out. I just curious about this because I got mine from Tropilab. It's got leaves but it's quite stemmy. I decided to make a tea of it & drink it.

I dowsed it & it came up as YES fairly often. I'm not sure if there is a big difference in the one from the pharmacy as opposed to the one I'm taking. I haven't had any bad reactions to it. I didn't feel a great deal different from taking it, either. I decided to take it as a tea so that I wouldn't have to grind it up.

From what I have read in studies - it may make the eggs of parasites infertile. This is why I think Dr. K may be recommending it as better than drugs. I'd have to search for the studies again to post them.

It seems that this herb can be toxic - so, it is good to be cautious.

Oh Boy, I took the full dose yesterday for the first time, 3 capsules 3x day as recommended by Dr K's practitioner. Man, been really dizzy most of the day today & steam / whirlpool helped some late this afternoon, finally much better. What a strange Herx, if it is a herx. last week took 1/2 dose 3 days. I am to take 3 capsules 3x a day for three days in a row then back off for 3 days.

My daughter takes 1/4 teaspoon 2x day for three days. Then rests for four. On day 2 she always has a good day. Then she suffers frim pain, fatigue and light headed for a few days. Pretty common herx for her. Must be doing its job.

It's hard to watch your loved ones suffer! Keep hoping and praying that she will eventually get well.
