When I am having a herx, the sides of my facial muscles cramp up and at the same time I get nasty cramps in my stomach and esophagus. I read something about this being the Vagus 10 cranial nerve and "bells palsy of the gut". Does anyone know anything about this and how it can be helped?? It is a big problem because I cant eat while this is going on, and can barely drink water, or take supps. Need help desperately as this is messing up my Bart treatment. Should I try to get a smooth muscle relaxer drugs?

I started taking flagyl for cyst busting two weeks ago. I immediatly noticed the next day that I was getting bad stomach cramps
I think its a normal symptoms of all the die off- thats what happens with this disease. it causes inflamation inflamation inflammation when it dies off!!

Which abx are you on?
Are you taking the meds with plenty of food? And taking probiotics by the boat load?

Yes boatloads of probiotics, I am doing omnicef right now but I had this probl with every abx incl doxy, moxy, and zith. The prob is I can't get food down when I'm like this. I have to stop abx, settle stomach down, then go again. It is really frustrating. I am certain it is part of the herx, not the meds, or the probiotics.
