I'm laying here doing my first Castor Oil Pack. It's been on for an hour.
I've started to feel some pressure and a little bit of cramping in my liver area.
Is this normal?
Should I go ahead and take it off?
( and how the heck do you clean the goo off your skin? )

I did these last year a few times. My doc said 20 mins tops, not an hour, although I'll admit I don't know why she said only 20 mins. That may have been for my particular situation, and I have a bad liver so maybe that is also why. This will sound weird but by about 20 mins I would literally start to taste it in my mouth. Thats when I knew I had enough.
To get it off I always used a "dedicated" plastic loofah-type puff and ivory soap. Yes very messy!

Clean the skin with baking soda in water. Put some hot water in the sink and add some baking soda, swish the washcloth in that.
I leave a box of baking soda under the sink to use when scrubbing the sink...it's better than scouring cleanser, with no smell and rinses easier.

Thanks
This is gonna sound nuts, but I swear I feel "movement" in my liver, like something ALIVE is in there. I felt this for the past week even before I did the Castor Oil Pack. I'd been feeling it after taking hot baths, and then after I did the pack it hasn't stopped.

My stomach always gurgles and grumbles when I do these packs. My LLMD says to leave on for 45 minutes. I am not sure if you know this already, but you want to make sure you are using organic castor oil and organic wool flannel. I have heard of people using organic cotton flannel also, but I use wool.

My daughter's directions are to do them at least 2 hours. When she leaves it on for 4 hours, she says things are "popping" which is a good thing.
Leaving it on overnight works great too - wrap up in a big towel and shower off the oil first thing in the morning.

Is this oil pack for cleansing the liver and or gallbladder? I had to take it every winter morning. My dads odd ways for healthy self help are showing up more and more over the last 20+ years. I'm eager to learn more.
