My husband was feeling nauseated before he started Lyme treatment - after one month of treating Lyme, his LLMD switched to treating babesia. Meds are Zithromax, malarone & artemisinin. He also received an IV of nutrients at that visit.

Around the same time he started rifing for babesia also.He slowly began feeling better and the nausea left! How wonderful!

Now at his last LLMD visit - beginning of Oct- his doctor was very pleased with his progress and left all meds the same - same dose & everything. He also received another IV of nutrients. The nausea came back right after this visit.

Is this just a cycle he's going through? The LLMD did ask him to stop the meds for 3 days and then call in to say how he is feeling. He forgot to call in - but it hadn't made any difference in how he felt.

He has continued to take his meds again. As far as we know, he hasn't changed anything in his routine.

Does anyone know what is going on with this?

All I can say is When I was treating for babesia I had major nausea for months. It is gone now and I continue to get better.

Was there anything you did or took that may have eased it a little?

Babesiosis can cause pretty intense nausea.

Ginger capsules and/or papaya tablets can help with nausea. Most healthfood stores have both. When I was really nauseous, I could not tolerate the smell of ginger so I chewed papaya tablets.

Nux Vomica works sometimes for me.
Ginger syrup works sometimes...I found it at iHerb.com.

I get nausea as part of a migraine, so your husband's nausea may have a different cause.

Oh, just remembered...sometimes several drops of cayenne in my iced tea help.
I use "Buzz in a Bottle."

Carol, you mean "hot stuff" can help nausea?? Would any hot pepper work? My hubby loves hot peppers!
