I've been having vision problems since I got ill.. You know how if you stare at an object for a while and look away you can still see an outline of it? That is what my vision is like all the time. There is always an outline or after image or haze in front of my eyes.

Anyone else experience this? It gets better then worse, back and forth. I wonder if it is toxin related or what? Would love to get rid of it, any suggestions?

I have this all the time! I hate it also. I cannot be 100% sure but Im thinking its from Bartonella. When I first got ill, I couldn't focus on anything without it moving away from me, like tunnel vision.

Even after I close my eyes I see white spots or black images. My eyes are also tired and as you mentioned hazy. I wish I new when it would go away but I don't have any answers.

Hmmm...I have a lot of vision stuff. Floaters, flashes of light, and sometimes I see "trails" - like if I move my hand around in front of my face there will be a trail behind it. My most hated vision symptom is dim vision. The best way I can describe it - its like a dimmer switch - everything goes very dim. This comes and goes for me and last hours or days at a time. Drives me nuts!! It's like having sunglasses on at all times. It's not related to the sun or indoor lighting. Who knows.

I think it's probably a little bit of both - infection and toxins. Hopefully someone will come along with a better answer.

I have the after-image problem all the time...I've had it for years, and I've just grown used to it...also my floaters are terrible and I see spots of color (kinda like the after-image thing) I never knew what caused it or what can be done...Ophthalmologists have told me my eyes are great...of course.

me too nhlymeguy, my eye doc said everything looked good and said he had never heard of anything like this!

I know someone on here has been promoting the use of mangosteen juice for vision and I'm considering trying it.

Stephania root is supposed to help, but i don't know if abx use would interfere with that. I had kinda gotten used to the afterimages too but it has been flaring the past couple of days.

wonder if it could be related to level of neurotoxins considering I have been herxing more??

I had this too and I think it's a toxin issue. I swear I used to wear sunglasses 24/7 and lived like a mole when this was going on.

I know this and my floaters disappeared when I started using detox foot patches.

I tried detox patches once while I was going through a flare, the next morning I felt like I was dying and went to the ER. Could have been a coincidence i guess since I was already feeling sooo ill.

LYMEINHELL did you experience any detox reactions to the foot patches and what brand did you use?

I developed after-images while on Rifampin and they have never gone away. I already had blurred vision from Bartonella, but in my nine years of treatment so far, this happened while on Rifampin. There is a known Rifampin toxicity that can happen to the eyes - even mainstream opthalmologists know about it. I was on Rifampin a long time, but I don't know if mine is a true toxicity. I herxed hard on that drug for well over a year. I saw a neuro-opthalmologist and she didn't see actual optic nerve damage but said I might need a retina specialist, but I'm just trying to live with it. And yes I've had floaters for years.

I've tried Mangosteen for years with no difference. I have been on Stephania Root for a few months so I will post if I have any success.

By the way, I got horribly ill from the detox foot pads. I have genetic detox issues and get sick from even gentle detox, but this was horrible. I stopped using them and definitely know that the worsening I had was when I was using those pads.

I didn't get horribly sick. I tried them out for 10 days, and they were black and literally OOZING stuff through my socks. I wore them every single night for a year. Yes, a year.

I used the Podi Patch brand - their original ones. At the time, they were huge $$/month ($240), but there was no denying that 1. my monthly herxes became tolerable enough that I could go to work while herxing 2. my neuro stuff, including the visual spots/floaters, after images, and tunnel vision, cleared up 3. my brain fog lifted.

I think the first couple days I felt a bit tired and drained, and then I felt energized and began to feel very rested in the morning, as if I was sleeping deeper or something. I also began to sweat again and it was pretty pu stinky.

There's zillions of brands out there now. I've only tried one other kind from the Better Health Guy.

Julie,

I tried the Podi Patches too, but only for about a month. But as I said, I'm so sensitive and have such bad detox issues, I'm sure they were working, but just detoxing me too fast.Maybe if I could have hung on longer I would have experienced an improvement.

And yes it was rather stinky!!

I gave them away. Oh well. Maybe I'll try again.

There may be various reasons for this but I'd start with keeping your eyes moist with a chemical free solution. Here's just one:

That's a bummer. Maybe try them for just a few days, then take a few days off? Have you tried an FIR sauna or other methods to detox? If so, same reaction? Rebounding to get those junked up lymph glands moving?

I know the first time I used FIR, it was when I got a detox body wrap. Was wrapped with minerals, spent 15 mins in FIR, and the rest of the time on a rebounder. I felt fabulous immediately afterward, but with 24 hours felt like I had been hit by a truck. Called my LLMD, who said 'You need to go again next week'. So I did, and she was right.
