I've been on abx for almost 3 years, and despite lots of improvements I have some symptoms that won't go away, and also still Herx badly to some abx.
Based on my situation, my LLMD had me try A-Bart. I got up to 30 drops a day (split, 15 AM 15 PM) and never experienced a noticeable Herx.
One of my worst lingering symptoms is fatigue, and my LLMD wanted me to next try A-Bab. I took a couple of weeks off after stopping A-Bart.
The very first day I started A-Bab (just a few drops, maybe 3-5) I felt moody and achy beyond usual, and on day 2 my inflammation skyrocketed and joint pain got very bad.
I was just wondering if anyone else who has tried both had a strong reaction to one (A-Bab or A-Bart) and not the other?
My LLMD has always thought that Bart is my biggest issue and most of my abx have been Bart-targeting. I never testing positive for any coinfections through IGx, but "something" showed up on my Fry lab smear.
Thanks, and hope all out there are putting up a good fight today.

Herxing is a phenomenon first described with syphilis, and known to occur in other spirochetal diseases.
Some people with lyme say they herx (get worse) on treatment for other tickborne diseases, and I am never sure about these reports.
So, IMO, getting worse/having an immediate reaction to a med is not necessary to getting better. The question is: did any of the symptoms you attributed to bartonella get better on this treatment? And were you on A-bart long enough to expect improvement?

I took A-Bart as long as directed to by my LLMD and didn't notice any changes, for better or for worse.
I'm still feeling extremely achy and stiff since starting the A-Bab, but haven't yet checked in with my doctor for his opinion as to why.
I don't know if my response to A-Bab is a "Herx" or not. My LLMD has described my responses to certain antibiotics as Herxheimers, but I don't know if that is what is happening now with the A-Bab.
