Has anyone's severe anxiety gotten better. I need to hear someone say they got their life back. Im so sick of living in a state of panic barely able to leave my house.

Im supposed to take a simple two hour trip tomorrow and I'm freaking out just thinking about it. liquid fire going through my body and I don't know how im going get through. I need to get out of my house though.

If you did get better, what was your turning point?

Yes, a member of my family had lots of anxiety, panic attacks, couldn't do a car trip more than an hour, but is well now. Hyperventilation attacks was one of the first symptoms to go, on combination antibiotics for Lyme.

Best wishes,
Shaz

You might look into KPU. http://drrandy.org/article.html

If you don't feel well enough or if you have balance issues (they can trigger anxiety), don't go.

Frankly, if you feel like you have "liquid fire" going through your body, it sounds as if you should stay closer to home, maybe to out to a tranquil park instead.

Sometimes, what I really needed was to be very quiet, still and in a dark room as ANY stimuli was just too taxing. Listen to your body, talk to your doctor and explore support methods.

Seriously, anxiety can be a sign of serious adrenal exhaustion and your body may not be able to take even a simple 2 hour trip out.

Serious adrenal fatigue can cause major problems so that needs to be considered. If your body can't do it, don't push if it might cause more damage.

Often, the anxiety is our wisdom calling. Take a shorter journey out of the house, one that will work FOR you, not burden you.

MAGNESIUM and FISH OIL are the two best helpers to lessen anxiety - also helpful is adrenal support.

If decide to venture out, take care of yourself along the way and plan time to recoup when you return. Enjoy as much as possible.

Also, I hope your LLMD is addressing this for you. If not, I hope you can find a doctor who will.

As SGK posted, KPU and anxiety often go hand in hand for lyme patients. This can get better but I'm not sure it will by Saturday. Do take magnesium and Fish Oil if you have them, though.

Thank you all. Im going to try, Im up, and Im listening to worship music. Going to take half a xanax, and try...I can always turn the car around.

Yes My LLMD is aware, hence the xanax. She tried putting me on rifampin to hit the bart, but I couldnt handle it. It caused horrible vibrating/anxiety/and vertigo.

I am on minocycline now-which I think hits bart also, so hoping it will start helping with the anxiety. I hate this.

Hey Jen (it's your NY friend [Smile] ) I hope you have a good trip, and that you are anxiety-free!

I have to reiterate the importance of addressing adrenals- I know it's overwhelming, but so important. As well as the magnesium and fish oil - I really think these things can help lessen your anxiety symptoms.

I will email you later with specific ideas if you need them! J

Anxiety was my worst symptoms, I felt like I was plugged into an outlet, like electricity was pulsing through me. I didn't have anxious thoughts most of the time but my body was on high alert. I would get sweaty palms, rapid heart rate, dizzy ect...

This got much better after about 2 months on Doxy and Zith. I agree with addressing adrenals, I was just found to have low DHEA. Magnesium helps as well. Also, my ear issues add to it a lot. Hang in there.

I have struggled with anxiety a bit. I had major anxiety last year, to the point of considering suicide. I am not a suicidal, or even depressive person normally. When I started Cipro, I really turned around. Unfortunately the Cipro did not go far enough.

Treating Bart over the summer, I was pulsing Rifampin (which you SHOULD NOT DO) and having horrible anxiety. basically, my Bart treatment was insufficient, and was bringing out some awful symptoms. Once I switched docs again and started a more agressive, sensible treatment, it came under control. I have a lot of good days now, and my bad days are rarely because of anxiety. I'm just exhausted from treatment, and dealing with other symptoms. But the anxiety is under control.

The anxiety will go away, you have to find the right cause and go after it. For me and a lot of others, it is/was Bart. If you haven't gone after it yet, I would recommend trying. Even if you have, you might try a different Bart TX.

There are a LOT of things with Lyme and co. that will cause anxiety. For me, Bart is a big culprit.

Jennifer, anxiety was so bad for me. I didn't want to leave the house at all. I would get sicker just knowing I had to go out even if it was to the dr.

I am on abx for 4 months now. I have been on anti-anxiety meds for 13 yrs and it was never really under complete control. Well last month I went off all my anxiety meds. This area and my appetite were two things that have made a great improvement since on abx.

I also for the first time in 2 years can eat real food. I believe that has helped my body greatly. I truly believe there is hope and my dr is amazed at those areas of improvement.

I agree with others posts, do only what your body can handle. Why stress yourself anymore to the point of being a nervous wreck. Going somewhere is not half as important as having your body in a restful state to heal. Best wishes to you.

My daughter struggled with anxiety. She couldn't be in a crowd without being medicated.

After treating for bart for over a year, her anxiety levels are really not an issue anymore.

What helped her get through it was doing an adrenal support and GABA. The GABA was really the supplement that really made a difference in her life.

That was one of my first but worse symptoms! I was filled w/ anxiety 24/7 as well as depression. Looking back I did NOT realized I was suicidal! Thanks God I survived that w/ acupuncture, family, friend and Church support.

That was YEARS before we knew I had Lyme and Cos. It came on shortly after the flu and it was so out of character for me. I'm normally bubbly and even when I'm sad I never stay low for long. So it was a very scary time for all of us... something I will never want to experience again!

Thank u everyone. It's nice to know people have been able to return to normal after going through severe anxiety like this.

I went.....maybe I shouldnt have put my body through the stress but I feel like Im so lonely, and sick of being so isolated. You feel caged after a while. It was nice to have a change of scenery, although Im emotionally exhausted from the anxiety.

I know I have to address the adrenal issues..I just dont have the $$ right now to get alot of tests in addition to my medical bills. I will look into accupuncture as well. Thank u.

Reading all of your posts truly brings a tear to my eye. My boyfriend has been suffering especially with the "liquid fire" numbness, and anxiety for so long and has no insurance. I have no idea how to help him. I can only believe its his lyme dz. He gets heart palpatations. Paralysis in his face, horrible social anxiety b/c he's afraid his body will go outa whack, numbness, oi you name it. He's taking magnesium, saventero, fish oil, ect and nothing is helping. I feel helpless for the both of us. He knows he needs help but has no motivation to get it. I'm just thankful to vent to people who understand what we're going through. I woulda had him come on here but he's computer iliterate. Lol basically I feel that if life is ever going to get better for him/us, its up to me. Whats especially frustrating is that your average joe out there and doctors dont understand lymes so they think its all in his head! Which is the last thing a person knowing he doesnt feel well needs to hear!

Jennifer ,
The anxiety passes ... it did for me @ least ... I understand what you

are going through.. it is horrible... but it will pass ... I believe

addressing adrenal issues would help just by doing a few things

yourself... testing is ( as per usual w' our gang ! ) not reliable and

a DX is more often based on clinical evaluation ( as is LD )

If you can get to bed and be asleep before 10 pm your body's

natural seratonin levels are maximized @ that time for falling

asleep , which fatigued adrenals need so much ...Natural Factors

brand " Tranquil Sleep " may help ... avoid

coffee , alcohol and black tea ...and starchy carbs ie: pasta and

breads ... avoid fruit juices and sugar... etc , etc ... you get my

drift ... things you can do without spending a bundle ...

best wishes to you ...

Jennifer, I am in the same boat as you.. Its horrible . I take a benzo but there are times they don't work. Especially if I have to go anywhere, or have an appt. sched. I start major panic the day or so before. Seems I always expect the worse. I honestly understand how you feel but have no advice wish I could help. If you find an answer please let me know.

I am suppose to pick up my grans from school today, only about a mile and I am already in a panic. My husband is going for a stress test of his heart and very calm.. So something in our brain is causing all this. I feel like I have PTSD but not sure of what.. Prayers..

My anxiety lasted for a month , straight , day in , day out ... I was

so relieved when it passed ... I am so sorry to hear of yours going

on much longer ... I was not on any ABX at all when it started nor

did I take any to relieve it ... I was only taking various supplements

to aid in my digestion and a product called Parabiotic Plus and

Biotagen ( a prebiotic supplement ) ... I was also taking 6000

mcg B-12 ... don't know what it was that helped ... maybe this

combo and the saunas , foot baths etc ... good luck with finding

sthg. that works for you ... I sympathize to the max ...
