Just wondering if anyone else is dealing with both. I found out in March I had BC and then a few weeks later Lyme.

Would love to hear from anyone else who is managing both.

They talked about breast cancer and lyme treatment at the Toronto lyme conference. They said stay on antibiotics if you can .

Reach out to tick battler. She is dealing with both, and doing well with the BC, last I heard. You can also do a search on her past posts and read some of what she was doing.

Best to you.

You're welcome:) Also, another suggestion... check out the book "The Gerson Therapy". It is high maintenance, but I hear it's very very effective.
Really wishing you the best.

Hi ! Sorry to hear about the double major hit ,,I've been sick over5 years and about 2 1/2 years ago had a lump, taken out, then it showed LCIS. I guess can be pre- cells that can turn bad ,later. Then my LLMD mentioned these can go away, I pray they do... Has anybody heard about this. What about hormones and supplements to counter this... Also ,from more holistic people, they say that ABX's can cause cancers... It's all so scarry.........anybody got any Knowledge about this ??

Either Lyme or breast cancer is more than enough to deal with by itself. Having both at the same time even harder. But, Im here to say that Ive had both at the same time, too.

Briefly, I became very ill in 2000, and disabled with what was then diagnosed as CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and Fibromyalgia. In 2003, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately, it was caught early, and I had great medical care, so here I am today, 2011 walkin and talkin.

It wasnt until 2005 that I got the Lyme diagnosis, and began treating for it.
Many places are now using integrative and complementary treatment for breast cancer. If you can find a naturopathic doctor, or an integrative, wholistic MD who can help you with nutrition and supportive therapies, I would highly recommend that.

There is a very helpful book by Michael Murray, ND called How to Prevent and Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine. He has information specifically on breast cancer and nutrition and supplements that will benefit you. Much of what he has in his book is similar to what my naturopathic doctor used with me throughout my cancer treatment and afterwards.

Other helpful complementary therapies are acupuncture, reiki, yoga, and qigong. Also, meditation.

A few years after my BC treatment ended, I was seeing a different naturopathic doctor. I asked what else I could be doing to prevent getting cancer again. He said that everything I was doing to treat the Lyme disease was very important. One of the reasons is that Lyme and Co causes inflammation throughout the body, and inflammation can make one more susceptible to cancer.

So treating the Lyme is good for helping prevent cancer, according to the naturopath.

Many of the things we do for our diet with Lyme disease are also helpful, like eating foods high in nutritional value, no sugar, no gluten (causes inflammation), unprocessed.

Best wishes for a complete healing of body, mind and spirit.

Nonna05-What are you currently doing to manage the LCIS? I saw two Oncologists & two General Surgeons in addition to the Plastics guy and four out of the five all told me it was not really a question of "if" with the LCIS but rather a question of "when". The Fifth Doctor wasn't very familiar with LCIS and was going to consult with her Partners. I never followed up with her.

Unfortunately, I've had four surgeries since 9/14 because my body is rejecting everything that we have done. We assume it is likely because of the Lyme & Co. Most recent surgery revealed Coag Negative Staph infection in that breast.
