Is there anything we should know about either of these two meds in side effects?

The Dr. is switching from treating babs to Lyme.

He did mention watching out for the sun with the doxy.

Should the old meds have a day or so to 'wash out' of the system before stating the new meds?

He is also to take Andrographis sp? an herbal to help clear brain fog.

Manna,

The best deal is to call your pharmacist or stop by and ask. Even the best online sources aren't as good as the info they have access to.

Doxy does bring up 2 things in my tired mind tonight, but there are more.

1. Stay out of the sun, even for several weeks after stopping it. 2. And don't take it with milk or dairy products.

The other thing would be to take precautions to fight off yeast.

Not much help I am, but a pharmacist would be able to help. And they are free!

Tincup pretty much covered the bases.

Are you taking Doxy and Ceftin at the same time? Just curious.

I was told that Rocephin and Doxy cancel each other out and tha Ceftin is very similar to Rocephin (just the pill form). So I wonder about the effects.

Its for my husband......... and yes, he's to take them both at the same time - at breakfast and supper.

Tincup, why not take with milk or dairy?

He hasn't started it yet. Finishing up his other meds first. 3 days worth.

You should get a handout of info from pharmacy to review, but quick answer, it can block the absorption of the antibiotic.
