I have had these strange sores on my back off and on since July of this year. I went to a dermatologist and also my Lyme doc. Both acted like it was no big deal. The dermatologist said I had Prurigo and he saw this "5 times a day". Said it was easy to treat...just apply steroid cream and quit scratching. Lyme doc didn't know what it was and didn't offer any suggestions.

I wasn't on abx when this started so I got back on Mino and my back almost cleared up. I was down to maybe 5-7 sores (vs as many as 30 before). That only lasted a while and now I'm back to having at least 30-40 of these on my back and spreading to my chest now too.

The sores start as very small bumps (similar to pimples but not exactly)..when scratched they errupt, bleed profusely and then eventually scab over. I try not to itch them....but even if I don't, the scabs come off in the shower or on their own and then the whole cycle starts again.

Some of them feel like blisters...others just itchy bumps. What scares me is I have probably 100 of these initial bumps (all very very tiny) spreading all over my back. Not all of them errupt but when they do they take months to heal. I've had one on my arm since Sept 1 that is almost gone but not quite.

Could this be parasites??? I read about scabies online and of course that freaked me out. All of this freaks me out to be honest. I just want to be well!! I've known I have Lyme for 2 yrs now. I get better, worse, better, worse. Have tried abx, vitamens, supplements, diet, salt/c....so tired of all of this.

Please help if you have any ideas for me.

I really doubt it is scabies. I had scabies. Got it from walking barefoot outside. It entered the bottom of my foot with a telltale blister.

They generally start on the fingers, between fingers. Lots of little itchy bumps.

And, your spouse WILL get them from you from sleeping in the same bed. So, that's how you know it is scabies.

Nearly any dermatologist who knows anything can tell a case of scabies at a glance.

Having this just on your back and it getting better once just by using mino sure doesn't sound like scabies to me.

And, when scratched, the bumps don't erupt, bleed profusely, etc. The scabs don't come off in the shower, etc.

If it were scabies, you would have it all over your body by now.

Whew...well that's a relief. Some of the pictures just looked like it could be that. thanks for the response!

Just wondering, what else have you used on your back? Have you tried using Selsun Blue Shampoo? Lather up well, let sit a min, rinse off and then rub down with an essential oil mixture, tea tree, peppermint, lavender, etc. It keeps the Morgies under. You can also use Everclear , yes that is the booze mixed with water to spray on sores, if it wont burn. We used this for my sister when she developed sores during the course of abx that lowered her immune system more.

Did the dermatologist do a biopsy of it? My dad has something that sounds similiar. The dermatologist biopsied it, and it is Grovers Disease; a rare skin disease.

I had this happen late last summer/fall.... on my chest. (I wish I could upload a pic).

My doc couldn't figure it out but I felt perhaps it was possibly yeast or something else trying to detox out of my body through my skin.

They started out as small red bumps, then progressed to welts. Itching and hurting.

I also, occasionally, have strange little "sores" come out of nowhere on my head (I currently have

one now on my left temple) I put tea tree oil on them. Never more than just one or two but bothersome nonetheless.

Creepy to think these may be parasites... (in my scalp)

I have tried the Selsem Blue Shampoo but didn't make any difference at all. Thanks for the suggestions on the Tea Tree oil and the Everclear.

No the Dermatologist did NOT biopsy it. He said that it was Prurigo and he sees this all the time. His course of treatment did not work (put steriod cream on and cover with duct tape). I've lost ALL confidence in dermatologists...they are ALL worthless. I've been to 5 different ones over the past 2 years and all they really want to do is cell you botox and beauty treatments! Sorry went off on a rabbit trail....

How would I know if this is morgellons??

Also, the one reason I really didn't want to do abx is exactly because of this. I believe my immune system has been compromised. Although the abx did get me well for a time it has never really kept me consistently well. I'm tired of wrecking my bodies with these drugs.

Going to try a lyme naturapath doc at this point. Anyone in Texas been to any of these docs? I have 2 recommendations. If you have any suggestions please PM me names of any LLNDs that have helped you. Thanks!

I don't have this but it probably wouldn't hurt to do an anti-parasite protocol like Parastroy.

Have you tried colloidal silver?

It sounds like no fun at all... Good luck.

Sounds like Shingles ?? I had this 2-3 months ago.

Shingles are blisters, and can start out looking like a rash. Blisters are clear and fluid-filled. When you scratch them, the clear fluid is all that comes out.

Shingles are painful. The pain starts before the blisters appear.

Shingles stay on one part of the body only. They follow a single nerve.

You can only get shingles if you had chicken pox some time previously.

If there is any chance it is shingles, you want to get treated for it (with anti-virals) so that you don't end up with terrible complications like blood poisoning and post-herpetic neuralgia (pain that can last for years after the blisters go away).

Go to a regular PCP for shingles.

I agree with sparkle about trying Parastroy. I have had this and also lesions as well. There is a parasitic componenet to Lyme disease. FYI. One mos of any antiparasitic whether it's herbs or pharma is never enough.

I added Hanna kroeger Wormwood, along with extra cloves and digestive enzymes (Super Digestawy by Soloray) and extra HCL with pepsin.

I also think that the herpes viruses and shingles are activated when the immune system is suppresed. The antiparasitics and antifungals helped calm this down.

When the immune system is suppressed, the viruses lying dormant will come out, and getting rid of parasites can help keep them at bay.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am about to try a parasite cleansing.

I'm quite sure this is not shingles. It isn't that painful and only a few of the really irritated sores turn into blister like sores. But they all bleed profusely. No clear liquid leaking out...always blood. Also (luckily) it's not that painful...just more irritating/itchy and that is mostly at night. Mostly they are just unsightly and annoying but I also think it signals something much more going on. I've been treating for lyme 2.5 years now and in the past 6 months, I seem to be worse than I was in the beginning. So much for abx...can't say they really consistently helped..maybe all they did was compromise my immune system further. So tired of all this!

I can explain Morgellon's if you wish to PM me. I have had it many years.

I hope you something else.

Finding a doctor to accept your condition is unlikely. I have found a doctor that has seen Morgellon's and tries to help but knows of nothing scripted, only OTC. Most doctors say they don't know what it is because there's no treatment to help and this is their easy way out.

I did have a scabies like infection and the only thing that cleared it was 2 rounds of ivermectin. I would ask doctor for a script or go to Tractor Supply . Ivermectin is pretty safe . I bought the horse version by durvet , measured it off by my weight and the itchy bumps disappeared the second dose .

Try benadryl cream or lotion . it really helps a lot .

It is possible you have norwegian scabies . Also, some morgellon's people get relief with ivermectin- I read about it at 2 or 3 other sites when I was researching ivermectin.

I took Stromectol, is it the same as Ivermectin except scripted?

I took it twice for a month at a time and it didn't help plus I've taken Biltricide and Albenza. I saw no improvement. Maybe I should try the kind from Tractor Supply.

I have noticed several posts recently from Texans with Morgellon's. I can't help but wonder if we are having an increase in cases.

I haven't tried Benadryl cream yet. My luck with Neosporin with pain relief hasn't helped my pain any. Any luck with anything clearing the lesions and keeping them gone?
