I was reading on my bottle, 1st time since had it three weeks and it mentioned making or doing something with sulfa/sulfur for body.. Again does this have to do with Sulfa med allergies?
We just had a big post about med and supp difference. Where does this land?

- [Edited parts in brackets: I thought] Glutathione has nothing to do with the Rx SULFA. An allergy to SULFA is not directly about glutathione [I would have thought]
[however . . . be sure to see the post below from TRUBEEE, and explore from there.]
Dietary SULFUR amino acid content is a major determinant of glutathione concentration in some tissues.
Glutathione is a detoxification binding protein made in the Liver from non-sulfur and sulfur amino acids (SAA's): . . .

I tried to post links but the computer system would not let me do that.

- Try what?
If you are talking about glutathione, the best help is to support the liver with good nutrition in the way of healthful FOOD
- and certain liver support supplements like NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine), Milk Thistle, etc. These "precursors" - as nutrients - help our liver to make more glutathione, the best way to go.
Gentle but consistent exercise, avoiding chemicals (included scented products) in your environment, are also vital for good liver support.
Getting to bed before 11 pm is also essential for liver health.
Suppose you could ask your LLMD about a glutathione patch but it can't take the place of all the support measures. If those are all in place and you still need help, some LLMDs also do IV Glutatione treatments.
----------- ($77 for 30 - that money would go a long way for healthful food that will also support the liver & and other cells in our body - that would buy one bunch of kale and a beet - and a few carrots - every day.)

I don't recall seeing any thread for it here, but you can search past threads:

- Nonna,
If you need more than specific foods, supplements, and the IV is not practical or affordable,
I think better than the patch (as any patch is likely made from some kind of petroleum product and that's not good to have sitting on your skin - plastic is never good to absorb),
Allergy Research Group Acetyl-Glutathione 100 mg 60 tabs Price: $91.98 -

My LLMD refused to allow me to try IV Glutathione because of my allergy to sulfa drugs. Apparently the IV has a "tiny mollecule" of sulfa which some people may react to. I do ok with the oral glutathione.

Keebler, are you on liquid form now? How much? Now don't see where I got Idea you were taking it/////// The water/high blood pressure pill they start most people on has sulfa also.
I found this out when they tried a combo pill on me. stopped taking it.. thought might have something to do with feeling so bad so long..NOT ,,,, I guess was LD
So now on nothing and blood pressure jumps around when,in more pain, sicker,or person doesn't take reading correctly.

If you have trouble with Sulfa/sulfites/sulfates, you will likely have trouble with all of the sulphur-based supps (glutathione, NAC, chlorella, alpha-lipoic acid, MSM, garlic, etc.).
You need sulphur in order to detox. This is a tricky situation. Kind of like a catch 22.
I have trouble dancing around this situation. Molybdenum is suppose to help. Sometimes I notice a difference, a lot of times I don't. Right now I am just avoiding most sulphur things (including a lot of foods). Hoping to build up a tolerance again at some point.
I also use Sulphur 30c (homeopathic remedy) but haven't yet noticed much of a difference.
