I have been doing IVIG for a year in a half and my wbc has been running low. Last January it dropped down to 1.4 and by march has gone up to 3.7 (which is still low) but big improvement. I had blood work in November and it was 2.7 and it's low again (as of Tuesday) down to 2.3.

I'm not sure if IVIG can make your white blood cell count drop. Does anyone know? My cd 57 also hasn't risen above 39 since i started doing IVIG (although I do feel a lot better and my c4a and c3a tests came back normal in November for the first time ever).

Does anyone know if there's a correlation between low wbc and ivig? How do I raise my wbc?

I've done IVIG for quite a while, and my WBC's are consistently very low. But I think that might have been true before the IVIG. Did you look at what they were before IVIG? I"d be surprised if it lowered WBC's. I suppose anything is possible though.

I thought that ivig would raise your ivig to normal...but I'm really not sure how it all works..I have been also been sick and feeling aweful for the last couple of weeks. I don't know about my wbc. I have blood work done every month and have for almost the last 5 years and only this past year has it been brought to my attention. I don't know if it's because of the ivig? I've been doing IVIG for over a year in a half-and I am still sick..so I really don't know.

IVIG doesn't seem to impact my WBC. I have my CBC monitored weekly, sometimes more often if necessary. I have never seen a drop after my IVIG treatments.

Are you on antibiotics or any other meds that might be lowering your WBC?

IVIG helps replace IgG but it cannot fix everything. Maybe you should talk with your doctor. See if you need additional testing or treatment to help you feel better?

Hang in there, we're all trying to get better too [Smile]

Although I never got as low as 1.4, IVIG does cause me to have a lower than normal WBC. From what I have read and from what I have been told, this effect has been documented in the literature and although it does not happen to everyone this can definitely be a side effect.

David what on average does your wbc run? I was at 2.7 in November and seem to be running between 2-3 consistently. Does that mean that I should do IVIG less often?
