drug that she's on that has been definately linked
to hair loss, so we stopped that. I found a
couple of case reports where Rifampin was believed
to have caused hair loss (one child went totally
bald). Otherwise, rifampin is sometimes used to
treat hair loss.
Since stopping the diflucan and upping her biotin,
the hair loss has not slowed. I'm seriously
considering stopping the Rifampin, but am worried
that stopping pre-maturely will put us back to
square one. Anyone else have experience with
this? Our doc is not overly concerned, but I am.

In my case My hair stars falling and I got grey hairs in frontal lobe when my bartonella( brucella) was fully activated and before taking any antibiotics , this was when FRY BUG came into place .When I started RIFAMPIN I knew I was killing the bugs and was still herxing for 9 months straight so did not stoped RIFAMPIN.I continued the treatment and over time as I was treating Lyme and coinfection the hairs stop falling and now they are FINE.

I was on Zith/Rifamoin/and Doxy from mid Sept thru early December, and then stopped ALL ABX due to high liver enzymes.
After only 10 days I started IV Rocephin and oral Zith. Yesterday after 4 week on IV I kicked in oral Rifampin again to get back hitting on the Bart.
They say its not good to start/stop Rifampin too much. But I guess my Dr thinks my break was long enough not to cause a re-start issue.
