This is an embarrassing story try to be easy on me. The summer before last my dogs kept showing up with tiny baby ticks all over them.

I was picking them off one by one and popping them with my thumbnail. At the time I thought nothing of it.

Now over a year later my health has steadily declined. It started and continued with flu like symptoms that turned into joint and muscle pain, twitching, visual disturbances etc.

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but after considering my contact with ticks I'm thinking maybe I have lyme.

I guess my question is, Would I be able to get infected by lyme disease and all the same co infections that someone would get by a tick bite, from just skin contact?

Chances are that if your dogs were bringing in these nymph ticks that you didnt get lyme disease from squishing them but you probably had one attach to you without you knowing

Symptoms match lyme disease to the tee. The longer you wait, the worse it will get. You still are in a period where you can deal with it easier if its only been a year. Find an LLMD

Best of Luck

I think it's possible. My dog also had tons of ticks. He's never out alone (I'm always with him holding the leash). Chances are if I pulled off 30-40 ticks on him, I had more than I knew of as well.

I have heard that you can contract tick borne diseases by touching ticks as well. Have you ever been tested or evaluated by a LLMD?

Symptoms starting with a flu-like illness are a big warning sign for Lyme or co-infections. I would consult with a LLMD before it goes on too long and becomes harder to treat.

Please download/print the Green Lyme Basic Booklet from http://lymepa.org
just click on the booklet (right side of the page)

full of info on Lyme & other tick borne diseases.

last pages full of symptoms the TBI (Tick Borne Infections) can cause.

To find a LLMD...(Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) you can post a message on the Seeking Doctor page and someone will PM (private message) you some names.

best wishes on your health journey.
