I feel like I have crawling sensations on my head and temples.
What infection is this??

Hey there <<<<< bearlythere >>>>>,
I had the creepy crawly sensation you describe when I was started on Doxycycline.
It was before my testing,and after a Lyme Literate medical group suggested I needed to have some test run.
Are you on any meds/supplements etc.? My understanding is this strange sensation is common w/ Lyme and co-infections.
I remember, I kept taking off my hat and checking to see if there was something crawling on my scalp. It did eventually ease somewhat[ I still have it on occasion ].
I have seuro-negative neuro-lyme w/ bart, and bab's, among other problems.
I now describe the creepy crawly sensation as 'if something was crawling under my scalp and skull as well as over the surface of my skin'.
Hopefully,others will be along soon who can explain this a bit better!

Could be parasites, I guess. But if it involves itching I would look to candida.

I didn't used to have much itch [ altho' I get 'dandruff',and that itches.].
Candida may very well play a role, I do wonder if it could be almost like nerve pain?
Our Sweety Girl-Dog gets an allergy itch,and the Vet stated that it can be considered 'nerve pain'. Perhaps that happens with we humans as well?!!
And as Bab's is a parasite correct??! That may be causing many of us that odd creeping sensation?!!

When I started IV Rocephin in December I had that crawly sensation on my forehead and around my eyes....
kinda felt like walking through a spider web in a dark basement. I actually kept trying to brush it off with my hands. It passed a few week later.

I felt the same thing like a spider web was inside my brain.I did the bionic treatment for lyme and the spider web feeling and crawling in my forhead still existed.I treated for bartonella and still have had this symtoms. While on babs treatment the scalp itchiness and frontal lobe crawling and web feeling seems to subside.Will see if it will come back.

Babesia is a parasite in the BLOOD, not the gut. It is a protozoa.

Thanks for explaining about the -blood protozoa- parasite! I knew it was blood borne,but I get the terminologies confused or forget whats what.
Had to look up the Babesia/babesiosis terms too... this is enough to confuse anyone. Course it doesn't seem to take much to confuse me!

Hi Bearlythere, I had the sensation of a bug crawling on one side of my face shortly after I lost hearing in one ear - before I knew anything about Lyme. I kept going to a mirror to find the bug but it was nowhere to be found.
I remember telling the ENT at Mass Eye and Ear about it and he looked at me like I was a nut case... It gradually went away, but when I started rifabutin, I had some of the same sensations again - only this time it was on my scalp.
I think this is one of the classic Lyme symptoms. Just be sure and tell your LLMD.
