Does anyone have any experience with this?

Does anyone know if it is necessary (or advisable) to taper down, for example??

Thanks...

Unless you are having an adverse reaction, I think it's always best to ramp up slowly and also to stop gradually by tapering off.

Our bodies do best without sudden changes.

Editing to add: I'm speaking here of supplements. Some Rx might need to be adjusting at the start and finish but that's best with medical advice for each person's situation.

How about for antibiotics?

That's a bit different. There are many variables there, depending upon the Rx and the infection - and the patient's ability to tolerate.

You'd want to make sure the relationship between the microbe and the antibiotic is balanced always as medically necessary for each individual.

For some new to lyme treatment, a full protocol - or even a full dose of a certain Rx - may be too much for them.

Ramping up can have some advantages but you'd not want to give the microbe a chance to develop resistance from too low of a dose early on.

Your LLMD's advice is best for Rx and for key supplements.

Back to your stopping the artemisinin and the cat's claw (whichever kind it may be), I assume you have medical guidance that it's time to do so - &/or there's another plan soon to employ if you are stopping for some other reason.

If you are stopping due to tolerance issues - or budget - I hope you have information you need for how to proceed from here.

It's just a temporary stop for each one. The aim is to give my body a break from sooo many stressors (allergens are awful here suddenly, and issues of an emotional nature need to be dealt with).

My doctor is going to be getting back in touch with me shortly in order to discuss the antibiotic situation, but he is not knowledgeable about things like supplements, herbs, etc.

Just to clarify: have you been advised, or read, that it is (or can be) important to "taper-off" of the antibiotics as well?? Currently I am on some pretty high doses of 4 separate drugs....

No need to taper in my opinion.

Yeah.....I wasn't planning on doing so, based on my previous experiences (and advice from my doctors)....
