Anyone have this? I have a horrible case right now and it is driving me crazy.
Half of my forehead has completely peeled and is bright red. It's heavy in my eyebrows. I also have peeling plaques around my mouth. In addition, the rest of my facial skin is really dry and shedding in clumps. I just run my finger over it and it looks like I have powder on my face.
This happened the year I am assuming I was infected with Lyme. It wasn't this bad though. I've been put on a strong antibiotic ointment because the doc thought it might have gotten infected with staph. I was also put on diflucan for a few days in case it was fungal. Tried ivermectin as well. So far nothing has worked.
Advice appreciated.

It doesn't sound like it's lyme related to me. Have you seen a dermatologist?

Yes, saw my Lyme doc first who thought it was fungal from the doxy. He also put me on ivermectin at the same time in case it was parasitic. Then I saw my dermatologist who had no idea (!), but she thought at first it might be viral so onto Valtrex. Then PCP who put me on strong AB ointment. Nothing is working so I thought I would ask all of you.
I had a Lyme like rash on my belly at the same time. Clearly a different rash though than my face. It wasn't itchy and didn't peel. They think that was pityriasis rosea which can be Lyme related. It has started to go away, but this facial thing has not.
Did a CD57 to see what shows up. Waiting on results. I know the rash might seem unrelated to Lyme, but I know Lyme comes out in wierd ways. Thought maybe it had happened to someone else. Getting desperate, this is so embarrassing.

One of my best friends in college suffered for a year with what sounds like the same facial condition you are struggling with right now.
She went to many many doctors and dermatologists. Tried high end cosmetics and natural facial products...
She was eventually diagnosed with a fungal infection (typically the cause of seborrheic dermatitis). What finally made her skin clear and normal, her doctor recommended Nizoral shampoo. Wash hair every other day with it, lather and let it sit for 3-5min. Lather and let it sit on the face, neck and shoulders also (apply to all rash areas).
It will take a couple weeks for the skin to clear up if your case is bad. Once your skin is clear, you can use the Nizoral once or twice weekly as maintenance. To prevent the infection from coming back.
Some people are more prone to it due to hormone balance, oils on the skin, types of bacteria on the skin.

I have it too. People often seem to get it when their immune system is impaired, its typical for hiv. Im surprised not too many lymies have it. Good shampoo helps but i never got rid of it.

Sammy thanks for the info. I haven't tried the Nizoral but will. I am really light blonde and the doc said the typical dandruff shampoos can change your hair color if it's light. But I can just try to stay away from my hair. I'm ready to try anything.
Sickmate I have heard that about the immune system. I had the shingles just before Christmas so I'm sure my immune system is a major issue.

I have this too. I use a dandruff shampoo to wash my face and ketconazole lotion that my dr rxd for it.
