Are there ways to test the function of these 2 pathways?

I've always suspected I have a fast phase 1 and slow phase 2

What treats that or tests for that?

Detoxigenomic testing will show this. Genova Diagnostics did mine.

I did the Genova Diagnostics lab testing - it's very clear - it shows a gene from each parent for each of the pathways it tests for.

If we have detox genes from one or both parents, we're ok. It's when we have no genes from either parent for handling a detox pathway that we're in trouble.

The test tests for 8 enzyme pathways in Phase I - analogy is the bathtub filling up with water - how quickly do we accumulate toxins.

It tests for 4 main drains out of 10 in Phase II - analogy: how fast does the bathtub drain.

Test results come with a lot of explanation about what's going on. Then the doctor should know how to tackle the problem pathways.

May I say, that even with the info I gained from the test, I am so chemical-sensitive that I am best healing from toxification by using an FIR sauna to sweat the toxins out.

Robin,

Do you find it necessary to have detox pathways open before using sauna?

Like colon, liver, lymphs?

Doesn't fir sauna detox deep in tissue, thus pouring more into the system?

Interesting, thanks!

re:Doesn't fir sauna detox deep in tissue, thus pouring more into the system?

I would think it comes out through the skin rather than going through the colon or kidneys. Some of it, anyway... Just a guess.

Ya I'm sure some does. But undoubtedly some will be left behind and need to be dealt with.

I've use a FIR sauna before and was EXHAUSTED afterwards. 20 minute session.

FIR sauna heat does penetrate several inches in, plus it stimulates internal bile flow detox, so said my doctor.

I drink water during and after sweating, so maybe that eases the detoxing.

My previous treatment has included treating Lyme and its inflammation, but I hadn't detoxed before, since I don't tolerate detox supplements. I respond well to FIR detox.

My doctor said that anyone should always start gently, like lower heat, shorter time, and gradually increase both, gauging your tolerance for the FIR sauna.

I detox using a steam room, 4 days a week.
The method I use is, (steam 15 minutes) (then a cold shower) (steam 15 more minutes) (cool/warm shower).

Saunas and steam rooms are both very good for detoxing
