I can't decide if I'm just paranoid or what because my symptoms seem to fit Lyme very well but they are relatively mild as compared to what I'm seeing from most people here.

I am an active competitive elite runner in my late 20s and I am still able to run 60 miles per week. It does fatigue me quite a bit and I can't do any hard efforts. Where as I use to be able to do 100+ mile per week and feel less tired.

I've been in for a bunch of test and everything has came back normal. In fact, it all comes back as very very healthy.

CBC
B12
Ferritin
Mono
Lyme (ELISA - that's inaccurate)
Sed Rate
Metabolic Panel
Thyroid
Testosterone

My symptoms have been going on since September but even before that I felt a little bit 'off' since June.

My symptoms are:

fatigue
frequent colds
gained 15 lbs
very achy heels when standing around more than 30 minutes
trouble waking in the morning - could sleep all day
trouble focusing
eyes hurting when I have to focus on reading
mood swings
floaters in vision from light
unable to recover from exercise on a day-to-day basis
pink eye in June
fever and sickness last April where the doctor prescribe antibiotics for what she said was a sinus infection

I don't know if I should blow the money or not with me not having health insurance.

Any confirmation or tips from those of you that have more experience with Lyme would be invaluable to me and greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Well, any tick bite events? An Igenex Western Blot would also be helpful in figuring out if Lyme may be in play.

bamboozi,

Welcome. But, oh, so sorry about health challenges.

I wonder: why go right to the "paranoid" label?

Usually, that comes from some doctor(s) who have failed. It pains me when any poster thinks of himself/herself in derogatory terms . . . when . . .

yes, there is very likely a logical medical explanation. You've just not found the doctors who are good detectives yet.

I would say: yes, indeed, you should see a lyme literate MD. While this may or may not be lyme, a LLMD will assess many tick-borne and some other chronic stealth infections, too.

Nutrient deficits will be considered (though I hope that's already been done).

There is an excellent ILADS-member (even an ILADS presenter) who is a holistic LLMD in your state. I see that you have posted in the "seeking a doctor" forum.

Good luck.

I guess the reason I am discounting it is because my symptoms seem mild compared to a lot of other people on this forum.

Like the fact I am still able to run 8-10 miles a day (although use to 15-20) while others are suffering from severe physical impairments.

I don't have any knowledge of a tick bite but of course that's fairly common amount people infected with Lyme disease.

60 miles a week? I can't even imagine.

If you're worried, get a Western Blot from Igenex.

Keebler - could you private message me the doctor you are speaking of? I've got info on Dr. N and Dr. K both from my State.

I don't see the private message option to send you one for some reason but see it for others.

Well one thing to remember is that alot of us on here are in rough shape right now because we are treating and HERXING alot.

It always gets worse when you start treating it

Also remember everyones bodies are diferent and everyones infection load and amount of infections are different too.

Hey,
I'm a runner too-- was, considered Elite i guess-- 800m. I ran and ran when I was first sick. I'd feel awful during the day but still be able to run well...super weird-- just to let you know it doesn't mean you're not sick. I was running 40-70 miles a wk too.

Running def made me worse and I've not run at all in 3 years in an effort to get well.

Everyone's illness presents its self differently some are paralyzed some able to work and do other things. I faked being well for years until it got totally out of control. So I say look into it now, because it WILL get out of control.

bamboozl,

I just sent you that PM you as per your request.

I don't usually have my PM function on as my energy is just too low to be open to questions beyond those with a quick answer.

Other thoughts:

ADDITIVES?

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=029690;p=0

Excitotoxins; MSG; Aspartame; & "Natural" Flavors

CELIAC ?

I would have hoped your doctors would have considered this but, if not, be sure to explore the possibility. Gluten can cause all kinds of trouble for some, not just gut stuff.

www.celiac.com & www.celiacsolutions.com

MOLD? Or CHEMICAL EXPOSURE? GAS HEAT or STOVE leak?

No need to answer back, just wanted to be sure all these have been considered.

However, if you have EVER had any kind of rash after a tick bite, that is also important to tell the LLMD at first visit. Absence of rash is most common, though. It's just that if you had a rash that knowledge is important.

And, for many with lyme all these things listed also seem to clobber. Seems lyme makes one more sensitive and all angles must be addressed if found to be an issue.

You are most welcome.

I hope it's actually not lyme but something else that can be quickly reversed. Still, whatever it going on, take care. Listen to the needs of your body.

Best of luck to you.

FOOD POISONING?

I just added a new post here.

An article out today (for an April 2012 periodical) sheds light on how food-borne pathogens can cause chronic illness.

Have you checked out the Chlamydia Pneumonia site, www.cpnhelp.org ?

Fatigue, sore eyes, sinusitis, debilitation .....could all fit with that.
