Hi All,
I am starting mepron and know i need to take about 25 grams of fat with my dose-- but if I am ramping up, can I have a smaller amount of fat, since its a smaller amount of medicine?

So if I start with 1/2 teaspoon how much fat do I need?

Thanks!

I wonder where the "25 grams of fat" came from. It doesn't say that in the meds sheets, or in the mepron instructions. It does say to take with something fatty, but never says how much.

I wonder if 25 grams is accurate

I believe it was 27 grams and I believe it came from a pamphlet on mepron. Folks have argued back and forth on this but I can always tell even with malerone if I haven't had the fat.

I did 27 grams for two teaspoons so I would say 7 grams per .5 tsp increment. I had to pay out of pocket for it so at 3000 plus a bottle, I wasn't wasting any!!

I hope this helps!

Thanks that helps-- my Dr told me too (to take the fat with it)

Med sheets are often incomplete, but it does clearly state on Drugs.com and other "official" type sites and explains scientifically how the metabolism of the med requires fat-- and will be 3 times more effective with the fat.

Heres a link:

My LLMD said that even a piece of cheese or a couple of nuts will allow the mepron to absorb.

Faithful, yes i think about 2 ounces of cheese or nuts would do the trick

I did a search on the mepron and the fat situation, and it seems like most people loose weight while on mepron...has that been the case for you all?

I'm worried about the extra fat, but i guess i can just focus on veggies and fat for my diet to maintain weight...

Thank you... I did not know that then and thank goodness I am off of it now... Thank you for thinking of us...
