Every month I study and add on another vitamin or supplement. This month my efforts went into learning about krill oil. I ordered it today and was blown away by the cost. I think I will focus for now on my sickest child taking it.
I am looking for best product names, best price and any advice on when to take it and how much you really need to fight the fight.
It seems like krill oil is good for so many things. In your expertise, what does it target the most in chronic Lyme?

I like the NOW brand Neptune Krill 1000mg. Dose is 1 softgel. For most other brands you have to take at least 2 capsules for the 1,000mg dose.
I also chose this brand because they use NKO which, when I researched it, was supposed to be very high quality krill oil.
I take krill oil instead of fish oil. It is a good supplement to help reduce inflammation, good for the heart and joints and nervous system.

Yes more money but if can Krill... I stopped and did Fish Omega....will put krill back in soon..
Omega brite oil tabs came highly recommended by doctor.

This is very interesting info re krill oil......does anyone know how much krill oil should be taken on a daily basis?

You can also get astaxanthin (in krill) from other foods:
A while back I asked at my local, independent health food store if they had krill oil and they said they don't sell it because fish live on it and that would cut off their food source.
But I've since heard that it's farmed and stocked so doesn't come from the sea as I understand it.

Thanks everyone. I did order the NOW brand in the 1,000 strength. It was almost $30 for 60 capsules and that was with a great discount. This is enough for 2 of us for 1 month. It is hard to fathom paying $45 a month for krill oil on top of all of our other supplements.
I will give it a try as my goal is to get all of us well.
The NOW product is cheaper at Swanson's than iHerb by about $7.00. I just checked.
I take astaxanthin for my eyes.

One advantage of Krill Oil over Fish Oil.
Krill are lower on the food chain so they have less heavy metal accumulation.

sounds like I need to price check swansons. I've been ordering from iherb for awhile because of ease of use in reordering my favorites. It helps save me time and frustration each month. But saving a significant amount of money would be better.

after iHerb made a mistake I checked out Swanson's - very much cheaper for the items I checked & they use UPS that delivers to the door rather than UPS that delivers to the post office which then takes over the delivery here - also much faster delivery.
However, there is a 4.95 flat delivery fee v.s. the possible free delivery at iHerb & their bulk discount & their VIP discount: so you might have to do some math, lol

ive been using carlsons fish oil. i was told to take 3000 am and 3000 pm. i did that for a long time. i think it helps my pain(inflam) and i hope it helps my heart since i cant take lipids. i cut down to 2000 am and pm cuz i am taking so much stuff now
i have always really liked NOW for most of everything...i think i'll look into that
i buy a case and it lasts a long time and is cheaper. sometimes a few of us go in on the case

Swanson's does run specials with a free deliver code. One time was Valentine's and a couple of times with an order over $50. I am on their email list now so now when the specials are.
I like their BOGO offers.
Swanson's has always been fantastic on shipping and I like that you can read the ratings from customers. They even keep the negative ones like: the capsule never disolved and I will not order this product again.
I can't even imagine buying a case of anything. Although during the past 1.5 years of treatment for 3 of us, we could easily use that up.

I've tried them all. Walnuts and Flax oil work the best on me.
