I have been on Rifampin, doxy, plaquenil, and Ceftin for 6 weeks.
The past few days, I have a burning and prickly sensation on top of my hands. My skin feels very sensitive.
Is this bart or doxy?

Doxy. It is the pre-cursor sensation (for me) to getting the photosensitivity . Be careful.

Photosensitivity to sun? I have a very light complexion anyway, so might need to get off doxy before summer.

This is the beginning of a doxy burn. It happens when you are exposed to sunlight while taking doxy.
You are describing it exactly.
It can become so severe you will not be able to stand it, and no pain med will help.
People wear gloves when driving because the sun coming through the windshield will burn the hands.
Once you get this burn, hot water hurts the hands and so does cold water. Terrible sensations.
Sun screen will not prevent the burn.
And, once you get it, it takes weeks for the sun sensitivity to go away.
You can even get it through windows and skylights in your house. So, watch out and ask that your doc take you off the doxy for summer and put you on something else.
Wear gloves while outside and while driving until the sensation goes away.

They're not kidding when they say doxy makes you photosensitive!
The first summer I used doxy, I got a really bad sun burn on my scalp (one of the dangers of being a guy with thinning hair!), and I have some permanent scarring from it. Now I won't go outside without a hat when I'm taking doxy!
And that's from a guy with really dark skin who never had a sunburn in his life before taking doxy. If you're normally fair skinned and sensitive to the sun, it's going to be much, much worse. Stay out of the sun as much as you can, and wear long sleeves and hats if you're going to be exposed to the sun.

You described it exactly. I think I did get sunburned a bit while driving. My hands have been a little red and sensitive for days. Like you said, even water makes them burn.
I see my LLMD in a couple of weeks and will ask about another drug for summer.
