I have a massive throbbing headache behind my left eye. I get them pretty much every week on the dot. This week I made it an extra day.

I am NOT supposed to take anything except 100mg of doxy twice per day. I have been having liver issues and have had to stop all meds and restart really slowly. I need to get another test this week. I cannot take or do anything that would affect my liver enzymes otherwise my treatment will be stopped again.

What can I do? I have tried drinking a ton of water. I am using ice now. The pain is really bad. I'm also getting really nauseous from it.

Try rubbing peppermint oil on your temples. Worked like a charm for me.

Also chiropractic adjustments help.

Good luck.

Hey <<<<< Summer3 >>>>>,

Along with Tammys idea, which sounds wonderful...!!!!... sometimes TxCoord and I alternate Ice and Heat.

We have a 'rice buddy' made from an old soft pair of socks made mostly cotton.

We filled it/them w/ plain uncooked rice, and tied it off. Put it in your microwave for a couple of minutes and it will hold the heat for awhile.

I tend to put the 'rice buddy' on the back of my head and do about 15 minutes heat/fifteen minutes of ice pack back and forth.

If your nose-bridge area isn't too sensitive,a pair of sunglasses might help temporarily too.

I will pray ,that this headache leaves quickly, as well as any light sensitivity and nausea.

Jus'Silverwolfi here [let us know when you get to feeling better!]

Do you get migraines? Some people are able to treat their migraines with caffeine, sugar, and aspirin.

There is a highly respected peds neurologist here that recommends her migraine patients drink mountain dew at first sign of headaches. Apparently it works well for most all of them. I don't remember the specific dose. It was a surprising amount.

I know it is probably not something you would usually consume. I just though that since you can't take any medicine, if you don't have a yeast problem, it may be worth a try. Migraines are unbearable.

Hope you feel better.

i use 2 heating pads made out of clay...

they have a strap on them...

i take the strap and i tie them as hard as i can around my head.

here is the exact kind i use:

the pressure and heat definitely helps..

so does caffiene.

i take lots of excedrin, it sucks that you can't do that [Frown] i would lose my mind!

You don't need the sugar, I don't think, to get the effect: it's the caffeine that works---along with an anti-inflammatory, if you can take that. Or a migraine medication, if you can take one, like Maxalt (melts in your mouth). If not, caffeine, plus ice.

Coffee enemas with a tsp or so of epsom salts in it (for magnesium) helps a lot. It cleanses the liver, you get the caffeine for the migraine, and the magnesium helps a lot, too.

Awful! (The headache/migraine with no meds)!

I still have it 12 hours later. The ice works a little, but I can't walk around with an ice pack on my head all day.

I am seriously considering a pepsi right now to see if the caffeine will help.

I think part of this might be a herx hitting. I started doxy on Friday. I noticed my glutathione/vitamin IV didn't do much for me this week either which is really odd.

I've tried a ton of things for my liver. I was told not to do anything this week other than doxy because they kept going up despite trying to lower them. I think it may be one of the infections causing it to go up so I'm hoping the doxy brings it down.

I think I'm going to try some coffee. I never drink it. I think I've had it once in my life, but I need to try something. I have to go all day like this.

This sounds crazy, but our doctor recommended 2 Tbsp organic apple cider twice a day for headaches. We haven't tried it yet.

large doses of magnesium and coffee enemas are supposed to be helpful---

not sure if the magnesium would affect your liver enzymes though so check with LLMD first---

hope you feel better soon!

Take almost 10 activated corcoal and you will feel it stop as it will bind the neurotoxins released at that area.Only high dosages reach that part.
Your stomack should be empty. You will find releif right away.

It worked in my husband .

I drank a huge cup of strong black coffee and that helped pretty quickly. So far it hasn't come back. I had to do something quick because I had a tough work day today.

I'm so glad I didn't have to resort to advil. Thank you for all the advice!
