I was borderline just before my diagnosis. Those symptoms were some of the first to go away in my early treatment.

I developed inner ear problems after being on antibiotics for several years. I think the symptoms were part of a yeast infection (I had other symptoms that were clearly yeast issues that started around the same time) because after stopping abx and doing lots of good probiotics (e.g. Theralac, VSL #3) the symptoms mostly went away.
Stuff like this is what makes me afraid to go back on the abx despite not being rid of Lyme arthritis.

I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis years before I was diagnosed with lyme. I always thought it was strange that a active, healthy 23 year old college student mysteriously had sudden onset labyrinthitis.
I never fully healed but continued to live the life of an outdoorsman. Two years later I was infected with lyme and bartonella (for sure this time). I'm not saying the labyrinthitis was actually lyme misdiagnosed, but it looks more and more like that everytime I think about it.

- marshall62,
You might consider integrative treatment with a LLMD who is well versed in antibiotics AND support measures, or an herbalist such as those listed below -
- an ILADS-educated LL doctor who has had 4 years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -- and someone who is current with ILADS' research. -----------------------
Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (but be aware many in this category are not formally educated in herbal medicine other than a weekend lecture here and there)
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees . . . .
HERBAL SAFETY & Interaction links
RIFE links, too. -

I was originally diagnosed with labyrinthitis. Which, according to John Hopkins can be caused by Lyme.

I was originally diagnosed with atypical Meniere's Disease. I had 3 of the 4 symptoms, but did not have drop down vertigo attacks.
I had lost hearing suddenly in 1 ear and then lost half of my vestibular functioning on that side. Horrible tinnitus and aural fullness followed - along with fatigue and mood swings.
My MRI showed 1 lesion and I did not test positive for Lyme on WB. Then I had strange buzzing sensations in my head and extremities.
That is when someone from the Meniere's forum I was on recognized some of my symptoms as possibly being Lyme.
Sure enough, when I went to a LLMD, I learned that was likely what had caused all of my auditory/vestibular symptoms from nerve damage. It is improving slowly with ABX and anti-virals.
