I really need to start my diflucan for yeast but I have never taken diflucan before and am soo scared of a horrible herx reaction.

I take flagyl and I do have a horrible herx but I know how I will react and can now prepare myself mentally before taking it.

The scary thing is not knowing. I know that may sound kind of ridiculous.

Will diflucan cause a herx and if so would you say it's not as bad as flagyl or worse?

I know everyone is different but I feel like I could handle it better if I knew what to expect.

It might.. it in no way compares to regular herxes.. esp if you are following the diet at the same time.

It doesn't compare to regular herxes as in the symptoms of herx from diflucan are different, or it doesn't compare as in it's not as bad?

my first dose of Diflucan hit me really hard - I thought my legs were going to buckle. This happened to one other person I know. But only the first dose, then I never felt a thing with subsequent doses - in fact, I felt sooo much better after that first dose.

So take your first dose when you do not have plans & can just stay home, lay low, drink fluids, rest if need be.

Another friend said she felt the best she has ever felt in her Lyme struggle when she was getting a steady dose of Diflucan. So be grateful you have access to it.

Both .. but be sure to watch your diet .. it will minimize the die-off.

I've had no herx-like reactions when I've taken Diflucan. It's a very helpful medicine. Like ESG said, be grateful you have access to it!!!

Oh my yes. I've had pretty bad herxes from diflucan but then I have lots of yeast

It makes me really sleepy (yeast die off).

randibear, did you have symptoms of yeast before taking diflucan? and if so what were they?

I have yet to take the diflucan because I spoke to my pharmacist who said that diflucan can cause an increase in qt intervals with the heart. Another medication I am on does this as well but I have had an Ekg with my current med and everything seemed to be ok and I haven't had issues with it.

Anway now I am concerned about this as well and will have to get back up with my dr. She was aware of all my meds but you never know.

Just in case, are there any good substitutes for diflucan?

Take it, gigimac .. take a half of one if you're scared. This is going to be a good thing for you.

I have A-fib and have no trouble with Diflucan. It's the antibiotics my heart reacts to!!!

You can try olive leaf extract.
